Sunday, June 5th
At 5:27 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in 100 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 36-year-old female suffering from non-traumatic internal bleeding. The patient received advanced life support at the scene including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, glucose check, intravenous access and fluid replacement. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Monday, June 6th
At 12:26 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, Truck 105, Battalion 105, Pasadena Engine 37, San Marino Engine 91, and Los Angeles County Fire Engine 5 responded to a major gas leak in the 1300 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire personnel arrived on scene to find an active natural gas leak from three damaged meters. Fire crews successfully shut of the flow of natural gas. The scene was released to Southern California Gas Company personnel.
Tuesday, June 7th
At 9:17 p.m., Engine 107, Engine 106, Truck 105 and Battalion 105 assisted Sierra Madre Fire Department on a structure fire in the 100 block of Montecito in the city of Sierra Madre. Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy smoke and fire at the front of the structure. Arcadia Fire personnel assisted with fire attack, ventilation, primary search, and incident command.
Wednesday, June 8th
At 5:17 p.m., Truck 105 and Monrovia Squad 101 responded to a traffic collision in the 100 block of Eldorado Avenue. Upon arrive, fire crews found a 28-year-old male with a possible femur fracture after crashing his motorcycle. Fire personnel provided advanced life support measures at the scene including cardiac monitoring, pain management, and a traction splint. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Thursday, June 9th
At 2:56 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 00 block of West Andrea Lane. Fire crews arrived to find an 87-year-old male with a complaint of weakness and dizziness. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Friday, June 10th
At 11:44 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 400 block of Naomi Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 78-year-old female experiencing abdominal pain. The patient received advanced life support measures on scene including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, glucose check, and intravenous access. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Saturday, June 11th
At 1:49 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 700 block of San Luis Rey Road. Fire crews arrived to find an 11-year-old girl complaining of a syncopal episode. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, full spinal immobilization, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Volunteer Weekly Activity Report
During the reporting period, the Arcadia Fire Department had a total of 8 hours of volunteer activities. Specifically, volunteers from the community donated their time to assist the Department with administrative, fire prevention, and miscellaneous duties.
Training
During the reporting period, the Arcadia Fire Department conducted a total of 381 hours of training. Some of the subjects covered were: Hose Evolutions, Ladder Evolutions, Ventilation Techniques, Salvage and Overhaul Techniques, Tiller Certification, Defensive Driving, Engine Company Equipment, Search and Rescue, Communications, EOC Operations, Records Management, Fire Suppression Tactics, Power Tools, Hand Tools, Truck Operations, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic Continuing Education, Hazardous Materials, Lighting Operations, Rope Rescue, Incident Command, Pre-Incident Planning, Supervision and Management, and Standard Operating Guideline Review.
