Upon arrival, fire personnel reported heavy smoke and fire through the roof. Fire crews made a very aggressive attack holding the fire to the attic with coordinated efforts with the ventilation crew. A primary and
secondary search was completed with no injuries to civilians. Crews did an excellent job at providing salvage to the first floor saving many occupants belongings from water damage. The high heat and humidity made firefighting difficult. Crews rotated through a rehab area, cooling and hydrating themselves, before going back to work. Three firefighters were transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for heat related injuries and were released the same day. Arcadia Police also assisted with evacuation notifications and traffic control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
