Arcadia Fire Department activity for the week of September 11, 2016 to September 17, 2016.

Sunday, September 11th

 At 2:32 p.m., Rescue Ambulance 106 and Monrovia Engine 102 responded to a medical assist in the 5400 block of South Peck Road. Fire crews arrived to find a 27-year-old male complaining of shortness of breath after ingesting methamphetamine. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.

Monday, September 12th

 At 12:04 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 00 block of Live Oak Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated an 81-year-old female experiencing chest pain. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.

Tuesday, September 13th

 At 9:38 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical call in the 500 block of Coyle Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 61-year-old female complaining of weakness, dizziness, and nausea. The patient received advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, intravenous therapy, and cardiac monitoring. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.

Wednesday, September 14th

 At 5:20 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 700 block of West Camino Real Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated an elderly female experiencing shortness of breath. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, and intravenous access. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.




Thursday, September 15th

 At 8:13 a.m., Engine 106, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 106, and Battalion 105 responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of West Huntington Drive and Sunset Boulevard. Upon arrival, fire personnel found multiple vehicles involved including one resting on its side. A 30-year-old male, who was initially trapped in his vehicle but self-extricated, suffered minor injuries and lacerations to his hands. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including cardiac monitoring and wound dressings. The patient refused further treatment and transport and was released at the scene.




Friday, September 16th

 At 9:16 a.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and Rescue Ambulance 105, along with Monrovia Engine 101 and Squad 101






responded to a traffic collision on the eastbound 210 freeway at Huntington Drive. Fire crews arrived to find 10 injured people following a six- vehicle traffic collision. Paramedics provided basic life support measures on scene for neck and back pain. The patients were transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California and Foothill Presbyterian Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Saturday, September 17th

 At 4:42 p.m., Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical call in the 300 block of East Rodell Place. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 54-year-old female experiencing a near syncopal episode due to an allergic reaction. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, intravenous therapy, and cardiac monitoring. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.

Volunteer Weekly Activity Report

During the reporting period, the Arcadia Fire Department had a total of 76 hours of volunteer services. Specifically, volunteers from the community donated their time to assist the Department with administrative, fire prevention, and miscellaneous duties.
