Arcadia Police have found another Arcadia house secretly growing marijuana plants inside. This time three adults were arrested inside the house in the 1000 block of First Avenue with 150 plants recovered. Last November 1,300 marijuana plants were found growing in a home at 515 Longden Avenue, but no one was found at that residence.

Following up on a tip to Arcadia Police of possible indoor marijuana cultivation in the 1000 block of North First Avenue, Arcadia detectives obtained a warrant and served the warrant at 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, May 20. Detectives found two indoor marijuana cultivations, the first of which was in the process of being dismantled. The second cultivation was a sophisticated marijuana grow operation with approximately 150 plants in various stages of growth. The grow consisted of multiple rooms with irrigation, lighting, ventilation, and electrical wiring run throughout. It appears there was possible utility theft since electricity used to power the grow had bypassed the electrical meter.

The three suspects arrested for suspicion of marijuana cultivation are:

  1. Viet Van Tran, a 24 year old Arcadia resident.

  2. Jessie Soi Chu, a 32 year old Temple City resident.

  3. Rodrigo Salas Rodriguez, a 48 year old El Monte resident.

All three suspects are being held at the Arcadia City jail.

The investigation is continuing by Arcadia Police Department Detectives. Anyone with information is asked to call the Arcadia Police Department at 626-574-5150. You can also submit crime tips and information via text, phone, or web to LA Regional Crime Stoppers, 800-222-TIPS (8477).
