ACA to get Congressional award

The Arcadia Chinese Association will soon be recognized with a national Congressional Award as non-profit of the year.

Congresswoman Judy Chu made the announcement at the ACA’s annual “Get To Know You” Installation Ceremony of 2013-14 Officers & Board of Directors on July 19, 2013. During her presentation of a certificate recognizing Joanna Liang for her first year as President of the ACA, Chu said the Congressional award is in process and should be ready very soon. Liang is one of the few ACA Presidents who will serve a second consecutive term.
The evening of recognition, a light buffet, and entertainment at the Arcadia Community Center, also included presentations by Arcadia Mayor Pro Tem John Wuo, California State Senator Ed Hernandez, Assemblymember Ed Chau, and Director of Arcadia Public Library and Museum Services Mary Beth Hayes, among others.
