The Arcadia Chinese Association will hold an Arcadia City Council Candidates’ Forum from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. on on Thursday, March 18 at the Woman’s Club of Arcadia, 324 S. First Ave.
The term of office for each Council member is 4 years and there are six candidates for three vacancies on the Arcadia City Council. The purpose of the Forum is to enable the voters of Arcadia to have a deeper understanding of where the candidates stand on issues that affect all Arcadians.
These issues include how to reduce crime in Arcadia, management of the city budget, traffic improvement, residential and commercial development. The Forum provides an opportunity for voters to direct questions to each candidate.
There will be two translators who will translate questions from Chinese into English and translate candidates’ answers into Chinese. The Arcadia Chinese Association encourages Arcadia residents to attend this Forum to gain a better understanding of each candidate’s view, approach, and position on the issues.
