Zheng named medal winner

Arcadia High School senior and Arcadia’s Best blogger Emily Zheng has been named a 2015 National YoungArts Foundation medal winner for her skills in playing classical flute.

She will participate in YoungArts Los Angeles, a week-long intensive program February 17-22 for about 100 YoungArts winners in the visual, literary, performing and design arts. They will work with masters in their field, the likes of which last year included renowned artists such as Debbie Allen, Stephen Hartke, Malcolm Gets, Rebecca Walker and Doug Blush.

These talented young artists will also present their work through a photography & visual arts exhibition; a jazz performance; writers’ readings and film screenings; and a multidisciplinary performance and music concert at The Los Angeles Theatre Center. Arcadia High School will also be receiving a YoungArts plaque for Emily’s achievement. (See the letter informing Emily of her recognition below…)
