Woman’s Club in fashion

The Woman’s Club of Arcadia’s celebration of its centennial this year included a fashion show presented by Carol Libby Wednesday at a member luncheon that was open to the public.
But this was no ordinary fashion show — it featured vintage dresses modeled by members of the club who were each introduced as historical figures from different decades of the 20th century. The dozens of attendees were treated to a march through Arcadia history as told by Libby as each woman came out and walked the room. Libby was praised in an introduced by the Club’s Floretta Lauber.
From a woman dressed to attend a Baldwin-era event at the Oakwood Hotel and carrying a program featuring Baldwin’s maltese cross logo to women dressed for a World War II USO event at the Woman’s Club and another wearing a special volunteer uniform to work at the 1984 Olympics equestrian events at Santa Anita Park.
