WILD WEST DAY 2017
Celebrating the history of Lucky Baldwin’s ranch at the Arboretum
Saturday, May 6, 10am to 4pm
Calling all cowboys and cowgirls, young and old, put on your hats and boots and step back in time to the late 1800s when Elias J. “Lucky” Baldwin owned Rancho Santa Anita and turned it into a bountiful oasis on land that is now the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.
Take a ride on a stagecoach, see horses from the U.S. Marshals Posse and enjoy live music by Shadow Mountain Band. Kids can learn to make rope, pan for gold, write telegrams and there will be blacksmith, telegraph and weaving demonstrations. Victorian fashions and cowboy artifacts will be on display. The Queen Anne Cottage, Coach Barn and Santa Anita Depot will be open for touring. For grub, you’ll find some old-fashion BBQ. General admission applies; additional fees for Queen Anne Cottage tours, stagecoach rides and food.
