Firefighters on several Arcadia fire trucks and Monrovia firefighters responded at 7:19 p.m. tonight, Jan. 1, to a fully engulfed detached two-car garage next to a recently vacated single family dwelling in the 200 block of East Camino Real in Arcadia. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes before it spread to the house or surrounding structures, and kept estimated property loss to an excess of $30,000. No one was injured.

The property had been recently vacated and was scheduled for demolition in the near future, and the cause of the fire appears to be suspicious in nature and remains under investigation.
