Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, November 16th through Saturday, November 22nd

For the period of Sunday, November 16th through Saturday, November 22nd, the Police Department responded to 989 calls for service, of which 94 required formal

investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.


Sunday, November 16:

At approximately 8:01 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of

Columbia Road regarding a burglary investigation. The officer determined two

suspects forced open a window and ransacked a home before fleeing. An area search

did not locate the suspects but they are described as two males wearing hooded

sweatshirts, backpacks, and face coverings. The investigation is ongoing and the loss

is unknown.


Monday, November 17:

At approximately 9:17 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of

West Duarte Road regarding a stolen vehicle report. While conducting their

investigation, a witness provided statements indicating the owner of the stolen

vehicle was involved in a traffic collision and was falsely reporting his vehicle stolen

to avoid liability. The vehicle owner, a 34-year-old male from Arcadia, was arrested

and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check also revealed he

had an outstanding warrant.


Tuesday, November 18:

At approximately 12:40 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of

East Grand View Avenue regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed an

altercation between a husband and wife escalated and the wife was determined to

be the primary aggressor. The 43-year-old female from Arcadia was arrested and

transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Wednesday, November 19:

At approximately 2:01p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 South

Baldwin Avenue, regarding a trespassing incident. The officer discovered the suspect,

a 69-year-old female from Arcadia, was caught trespassing at the mall two days in a

row. She had been asked to not return and she stated she would return again. She

was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Thursday, November 20:

At approximately 7:20 p.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located

at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a number of vehicle burglaries. During the

evening hours, six victims reported their vehicles had been broken into. Surveillance

footage captures a male Black suspect seen breaking into two of the vehicles. The

investigation is ongoing.


Friday, November 21:

At approximately 11:12 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of

West Duarte Road regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between 7:00 a.m. and

11:00 p.m. on November 18th, unidentified suspect(s) entered through a broken

window and stole a pair of shoes. The victim’s home had been recently burglarized on

November 16th

.

Saturday, November 22:

At approximately 1:38 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of

Palo Alto Drive regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered someone had

changed her login and contact information and completed six money transfers

resulting in a loss of approximately $450.00.
