The announcement was made today by Arcadia Mayor Peter Amundson, who said this is a chance for Arcadians to focus on and celebrate the belief that a strong family is the foundation of a good, safe and prosperous society. “The Mayor’s Community Breakfast is a decades-long tradition in Arcadia and a terrific opportunity for the community to get together and celebrate our families, friends and the wonderful place we call home.” Tickets are $17 per person, $2 of which will be donated to Arcadia Welfare and Thrift to assist with their ongoing work on behalf of local families in need. Tickets must be purchased in advance. London is the Vice President of Ministry Outreach/Pastoral Ministries for Focus on the Family where he directs the development of ministries to pastors and their spouses, and gives oversight to ministries affecting missionaries and chaplains. Before joining Focus on the Family in 1991, London served as the Senior Pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Pasadena. He is a former radio host and an accomplished author, and will speak to the heart of Arcadia and the appreciation our community has for family and public service. Focus on the Family is a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing and helping families thrive. Founded in Arcadia in 1977 by family psychologist Dr. James C. Dobson, the organization is now headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Focus on the Family radio broadcasts have a combined reach of more than 220 million listeners daily in 155 countries.
