Repaving Santa Anita Ave.

Santa Anita Avenue from Live Oak Ave. to Longden Ave. is down to a single lane and closed at various intersections while the road is being repaved. It’s one of many City improvement projects underway right now that can be seen by clicking the index of Arcadia’s Best stories in the category of “Getting Around.”

Deputy Director of Development Services Phil Wray said the project, which began Oct. 5, is the City’s first of three Federal Stimulus (ARRA) funded projects.

The three-to-four-week project will grind and overlay the old asphalt and replace damaged concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, ramps and cross-gutters.

A similar project will begin in January on Santa Anita Ave. from Foothill Blvd. to Grandview Ave. This is the City’s second stimulus-funded project. It will grind and overlay the old asphalt and replace damaged concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, ramps and cross-gutters.  The project has been advertised for bids and a contract will be awarded in November.  Construction will occur in January 2010.
