OLYMPICS RETURNING TO ARCADIA

As you heard on Tuesday, the LA28 Committee officially selected Santa Anita Park to host equestrian events.

As requested, we will return on May 6 with an agenda item to consider forming a City Council ad-hoc committee to help plan the festivities. In the meantime, we are reaching out to the LA28 folks to begin formal collaboration and discussions toward a host city agreement. We have already received interest from the Chamber of Commerce and other local stakeholders on participating in planning efforts for events around the Games; the community is really excited by all of this! We also are reworking some of our planned capital projects in this year’s budget to ensure that Arcadia (especially around Santa Anita Park and our key commercial areas) is looking its absolute best when the world arrives in 2028.
