Moving sale for charity

A moving sale being held at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 28, will feature a couple of unique twists that should entice you to stop by: a portion of the sales will go to charity, and you are encouraged to bring your own items to sell for which you can designate the percentage of proceeds to be added to the charity donation.

The sale will take place at the home of Edie Ramirez, who is moving to Monrovia. Sonia Rose is organizing the event at 737 Val Street, west of Baldwin and south of Lemon Street. “We will all be bringing items to sell with the idea of donating a portion of the sales to a charity,” said Rose, noting that one possible beneficiary is the national organization Back on My Feet, which launched an L.A. chapter last year. The organization helps the homeless by first getting them to commit to a running program and getting in good physical shape. A major sponsor of Back on My Feet is Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
