Two more Gold Line bridges in Arcadia will soon be adorned with artwork.
The long-planned lighted art on the bridge over Santa Anita Avenue will go up in a couple months, Phil Wray, City of Arcadia Deputy Director of Development Services/City Engineer, said this morning at the monthly meeting of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Forum.
The art pieces, about six-feet tall and five-feet wide with a stylized version of the City’s peacock logo topped by the word Arcadia in an iconic font from signs of yesteryear, will be mounted on the bridge abutments on the side of the road heading northbound and southbound and will feature change-able lighting colors.
Later, the train bridge over Huntington Drive at Second Avenue will feature the historic and iconic Route 66 logo on both sides at both ends of the word Arcadia spelled out all the way across the bridge.
