On Wednesday morning, a supervisor in the Library noticed an odd smell. A Public
Works employee who happened to be working in the Library investigated things
and noticed an unusual color coming from one of the overhead light fixtures. He
thought it might have been sparks, so he grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher and sprayed it. As you can see from the photo, the light melted but damage was limited to that fixture. Library operations were unaffected by the fire other than a slight smell for a while. Kudos to Andres in the Library and Kyle in Public Works who quickly reacted to this potentially
catastrophic situation!
