May 13, 2025 Celebrating Asian American And Pacific Islander Heritage Month

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the vibrant cultures, stories, and contributions of the AAPI community!

This year, we’re proud to highlight the recognition of Arcadia’s own Fire Chief and invite you to take part in programs for all ages. From hands-on crafts at the Gilb Museum to themed film screenings, there are plenty of ways to celebrate!

Recognizing Fire Chief Chen Suen

In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, our Fire Chief, Chen Suen, was recognized by Assemblymember Mike Fong at the California State Capitol during the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Ceremony! 

As the first Asian American Fire Chief in Arcadia, Chief Suen has dedicated over 20 years to the Arcadia Fire Department. Beyond his distinguished public service, Chief Suen is also a part-time educator and attorney.
