Personnel Update Although crews remain busy training our new firefighters, a few significant training exercises were conducted during this reporting period. Members of local fire departments joined Arcadia firefighters in reviewing the Wheeler Incident that occurred on October 8. These after-action reviews positively reinforce operations that went well and discuss and train on those that can be improved on. These efforts were coordinated by Training Captain Olivarez.

Additionally, members of our Urban Search and Rescue team participated in quarterly regional training drills as part of the Regional Task Force Team 4. The training focused on different shoring and breaching techniques in the event of building collapses. This training coincidentally was conducted the same week that the Bay Area experienced an earthquake. This training ensures that our regional team is prepared for events such as an earthquake.
