Fire Department Weekly Report - April 13 – 19, 2025

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week

of April 13 – 19, 2025. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this

period:







Sunday, April 13

At 6:05 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to the 400 block of East

Live Oak Avenue for a person down. Fire personnel arrived to find a 48-year-old male

suffering from weakness from low blood sugar. The patient received advanced life support

protocols including intravenous therapy, cardiac monitoring, blood glucose testing,

medications, and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.

Monday, April 14

At 10:36 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a report

of a vehicle versus pedestrian incident near the intersection of South Mayflower Avenue

and El Norte Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 79-year-old male with traumatic

injuries after being struck by a vehicle travelling at about 10-15 miles per hour. The patient

received a full trauma assessment which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG)

and intravenous therapy. Paramedics determined the patient met trauma criteria and

transported the patient to Huntington Hospital for further treatment.

Tuesday, April 15

At 12:51 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a medical

incident in the 800 block of Fairview Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found an 11-

month-old male with a complaint of an allergic reaction with hives covering his body. Fire

personnel completed a full medical evaluation which included establishing intravenous

access, administering Benadryl to reverse the reaction, and transporting the patient to

USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.


Wednesday, April 16


At 6:12 p.m., Engine 105, Truck

105, Rescue Ambulance 105, BLS

105, and Battalion 105 responded

to a report of a person stuck in a

tree in the 200 block of South Third Avenue. Upon arrival, fire

personnel found a 27-year-old

male approximately 40 feet up in a tree and conducted a technical rescue operation using the aerial ladder, a pick-off device, and tools to clear tree limbs. The male was secured and safely lowered to the ground. There were no injuries associated with this incident.

Thursday, April 17

At 5:26 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of a

motorcycle versus vehicle collision near the intersection of Las Tunas Drive and Santa

Anita Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 21-year-old male with multi-system

traumatic injuries and a deformity to his right shoulder. The patient received a full medical

and trauma evaluation, treatment for his injuries, and was transported to Huntington

Hospital for further treatment.


Friday, April 18

At 9:16 p.m., Engine 105 and Truck 105 responded to the 1200 block of El Monte Avenue

for a reported fire alarm activation. Fire personnel arrived to find light white smoke

emanating from the home. After the resident explained his oven had malfunctioned, the

power to the oven was shut down and power blowers were utilized to ventilate the smoke

from the home. No injuries and no damage occurred during this incident.

Saturday, April 19

At 5:02 p.m., Engine 107, USAR 106, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105

responded to the report of a mountain rescue at Highland Oaks Drive and Lower

Clamshell Truck Trail. Fire personnel arrived to find a 55-year-old male on a trail who had

fallen from a bicycle and suffered a head injury and other fall-related trauma. The patient

received advanced life support protocols including a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy,

blood glucose testing, stabilization, and was transported to Huntington Hospital for further

treatment.
