Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, April 12th through Saturday, April 18th

For the period of Sunday, April 12th through Saturday, April 18th, the Police Department responded to 934 calls for service, of which 100 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.


Sunday, April 12:

At approximately 4:06 p.m., an officer responded to Leslie’s Pool Supplies, located at

324 East Huntington Drive, regarding a theft report. The reporting party witnessed a

group of suspects steal a pool vacuum. The investigation is pending a review of the

store’s surveillance footage.


Monday, April 13:

At approximately 12:13 a.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125

North First Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer discovered

someone stole the victim’s duffle bag containing electronics and contents of a wallet

from an unsecured locker.


Tuesday, April 14:

At approximately 5:37 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of

El Monte Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The victim stated they heard

someone in their home and witnessed the suspect flee. No vehicle was seen and no

loss was reported.


Wednesday, April 15:

At approximately 10:29 p.m., an officer responded to Denny’s, located at 7 East

Huntington Drive, regarding a subject threatening a customer with a screwdriver. The

officer located the suspect and a records check revealed he had an outstanding

felony warrant. The suspect was also found to be in possession of

methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The 44-year-old local male transient

was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Thursday, April 16:

At approximately 3:33 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for having

expired registration tags. A records check of the driver revealed she had a

misdemeanor warrant for her arrest and was driving with an expired license. The 37-

year-old female from Arcadia was arrested and issued a citation.


Friday, April 17:

At approximately 10:01 a.m., an officer responded to Jack in the Box, located at 164 East

Live Oak Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. Staff reported seeing the suspect in

the kitchen of the restaurant and witnessed him steal a pair of headphones. Officers

located the suspect and a records check revealed he had two outstanding

misdemeanor warrants. The 25-year-old Los Angeles transient was arrested and

transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Saturday, April 18:

At approximately 5:07 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 of East

Live Oak Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unidentified

suspect(s) smashed a window, ransacked the home, and fled with property. The total

loss is unknown.
