Chinese New Year events

The Arcadia Chinese Association is kicking off the Chinese New Year with three of its annual community events to promote better integration and understanding between Chinese and American cultures, ACA president Edward Wong announced Friday (events list below the following video of the press conference):

  1. City Employee Appreciation Program: ACA will show present a gift bag to all 413 City employees during a ceremony at the beginning of the City Council meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1.

  2. Spring Festival: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at Westfield Santa Anita mall – free stage performances including dancing, plus art and gift booths and traditional red envelopes of fortune handed out to at least 150 attendees.

  3. Senior Citizen Luncheon: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, Arcadia Community Center to celebrate Chinese New Year with Arcadia senior citizens. Mrs. Betty Harris, who teaches English Conversation class at Arcadia Public Library will receive the annual Community Service Award from ACA.
