ARCADIA SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONWIDE SURVEY ON HEALTH

Arcadia received word last week that we had been randomly selected to serve as a survey site community for the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

For more than 60 years, the NHANES program (www.cdc.gov/nchs/nhanes) has worked to monitor trends in health, health behaviors, diseases, environmental exposures, and nutrition across the United States. NHANES plans to conduct its survey in Arcadia in 2027 at a location to be determined over the next few months.

They have asked the City to help raise awareness by sharing information through City

communication channels, which we will do. It dovetails nicely with our Health Commission efforts; we will include the Commission in our outreach efforts next year, if appropriate. No action needs to be taken right now.
