Bowl for Gold Special Olympics

The first of 12 “Bowl for the Gold” fundraisers for Special Olympics Southern California kicks off this month to help raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes from Nov. 7 – Dec. 12.

Registration deadline is midnight Sunday, Nov. 15, for the event at Bowling Square Lanes (1020 S. Baldwin Ave.) in Arcadia at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.

Whether you throw strikes or gutter balls, bowling at one of these events across Southern California will help provide free sports training and competition throughout the year for thousands of children and adults that participate in Special Olympics.

Everyone is invited to Bowl for the Gold, Special Olympics Southern California’s bowl-a-thon fundraising events.  This is a great event to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.

Proceeds from Bowl for the Gold provide FREE year-round sports training and competition for thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Participation in Special Olympics empowers our athletes to become physically fit, productive and respected members of the community.

This year Special Olympics Southern California celebrates 40 years of changing lives through the power of sport. Special Olympics offers opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to participate in year-round sports training and competition. Founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics provides people with intellectual disabilities continuing opportunities to develop fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy as they participate in the sharing of gifts and friendship with other athletes, their families and the community.  For more information about how to compete, volunteer, coach or donate to Special Olympics Southern California, visit www.sosc.org.
