Baldwin exhibit at Library

With the upcoming dedication of a statue of the founder of Arcadia, Elias J. “Lucky” Baldwin, and a related History Lives Here historical marker on April 16, the Arcadia Historical Society‘s Sandy Snider and Carol Libby have prepared a fascinating exhibit of historical photos and memorabilia about Baldwin’s life and times, primarily at his homeplace on the property that is now the Arboretum.

The display can be viewed a few feet inside the entry of the Arcadia Public Lbrary through the end of May.

Among the information that may be new to many people is that Baldwin had his own line of wines and that one of his most trusted men on the ranch was Chinese employee Lem Kay.
