Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - week of 2/27 - 3/5/2022

For the period of Sunday, February 27th through Saturday, March 5th, the Police Department responded to 871 calls for service, of which 93 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.



Sunday, February 27:

  1. At 7:00 a.m., an officer responded to the area of 102 East Huntington Drive regarding a petty theft report. The officer determined the suspect stole approximately $100.00 worth of groceries before exiting the store, failing to pay for the items. The suspect was gone by the time the officer arrived.

  2. At 9:03 p.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of Palo Alto Drive regarding a theft from a vehicle incident. Sometime between 9:15 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 27th, someone stole the victim’s catalytic converter from her Honda Civic.

Monday, February 28: 3. At 4:41 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of North Golden West Avenue regarding a theft from a vehicle incident. The witness reported seeing three suspects steal a catalytic converter. The description of the suspects is vague, but they fled in a dark colored Ford Mustang and a light colored SUV. The suspects were interrupted by the witness, and they fled emptyhanded.

4. At 2:27 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Le Roy Avenue regarding a fraud report. The victim was notified of three fraudulent purchases on his credit card. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained his personal information as he was still in possession of his credit card.

Tuesday, March 1: 5. At 3:32 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of North Santa Anita Avenue and Live Oak Avenue regarding the notification of a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers located the vehicle, conducted an enforcement stop, and during an inventory search of the vehicle, the officer located a glass smoking pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. A 45-year-old female from Los Angeles was arrested for Driving a Stolen Vehicle and Possession of Unlawful Paraphernalia and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Wednesday, March 2:

6. At 6:39 a.m., an officer responded to Phoenix Restaurant, located at 1108 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured the suspect, a lone male, shatter the front glass window and stole the cash register. The suspect is described as a male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The investigation is pending a review of the footage.


7. At 10:55 a.m., an officer responded to VJ’s Auto Service, located at 400 North 1st Avenue, regarding a vandalism report. The victim discovered someone etched the word “KABAM” into the front glass window of the business. The investigation is pending a review of any available surveillance footage.


8. At 2:57 p.m., an officer responded to Westfield Santa Anita Mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a robbery investigation. An investigation revealed the unidentified suspect sprayed the victim in the eyes with a liquid substance and stole her purse.


Thursday, March 3:

9. At 9:38 a.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125 North First Avenue, regarding a trespassing incident. Officers located the suspect and while detaining him, they discovered he was in possession of a glass smoking pipe. The 36-year-old local male transient was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


10. At 11:02 a.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of West Duarte Road regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer determined someone entered the construction site and stole $600.00 worth of wiring. The incident occurred sometime between February 25th and March 3rd.


Friday, March 4:

11. At 7:01 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Beauty Spa, located at 1013 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a vandalism. The officer witnessed the suspect throwing rocks at the business’s windows resulting in them shattering. The suspect, a 32-year-old male from Wilmington, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


12. At 8:23 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a domestic dispute. The officer discovered a wife had assaulted her husband. The suspect, a 32-year-old female from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Saturday, March 5:

13. At 7:56 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Genoa Street regarding a burglary report. The victim discovered someone entered his garage through a partially opened window, then ransacked the unlocked vehicles, and fled with a stolen handicapped placard.


14. At 10:48 a.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of El Dorado Street regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 2:57 a.m. and 10:48 a.m. on March 5th, someone stole the victim’s Chevrolet S10 truck.
