Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, March 27th through Saturday, April 2nd

For the period of Sunday, March 27th through Saturday, April 2nd, the Police Department responded to 835 calls for service, of which 106 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, March 27:
1. At 3:16 a.m., an officer responded to the 700 block of West Lemon Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. An investigation revealed the victim had his 2016 Kia Soul stolen from the front of his residence sometime during the previous night. The vehicle was later found on fire in the City of West Covina. No suspects were located or arrested for the vehicle theft as of March 27th.
Monday, March 28:
2. At 8:19 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of South Golden West Avenue regarding a battery incident. The officer discovered a dispute between a husband and a wife resulted in the female half battering the male victim. The 41-year-old female from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
3. At 7:07 p.m., an officer responded to the 300 block of East Foothill Boulevard regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on March 28th, someone smashed one of the windows and stole the victim’s keyboard.
4. At 11:36 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Woodruff Avenue regarding a burglary report. Between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., unidentified suspect(s) shattered a rear glass door and ransacked the home. The suspect(s) fled with jewelry. The investigation is pending a review of the submitted surveillance footage.
Tuesday, March 29:
5. At 12:53 a.m., an officer responded to Moxie Lounge, located at 1205 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured a lone suspect using a stolen key from a lock box to enter the business. Once inside, he ransacked the front desk and fled with cash and a laptop. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5’10”, with an average build, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, long jean shorts, black shoes, and gloves. The investigation is ongoing.
6. At 4:52 a.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of East Duarte Road regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed that while unknown suspect(s) stole a catalytic converter from a neighbor’s Nissan cargo van. A witness approached the suspects and one of the suspects pointed a laser at the witness’s face. The witness retreated and the suspects fled with the stolen vehicle part.
Wednesday, March 30:
7. At 2:51 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Southview Road regarding a stolen vehicle report. The driver stated he parked the vehicle in front of his residence and left it unlocked, with the keys inside. The following morning, the vehicle was gone. The incident occurred on the night of March 29th and the morning of March 30th.
8. At 3:55 p.m., officers responded to Le Meridien hotel, located at 130 West Huntington Drive, regarding a subject possibly threatening hotel patrons with a weapon. An investigation revealed the suspect had vandalized the hotel’s interior. The suspect, a 47-year-male from Hacienda Heights, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, March 31:
9. At 7:06 a.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, located at 102 East Huntington Drive, regarding a trespassing report. The suspect, a 36-year-old local male transient who had been warned to avoid the business, was inside and had been asked to leave. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
10. At 12:29 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a fraud report. The reporting party discovered multiple pieces of stolen mail and identifiable documents were left behind by a previous tenant. The suspect has been identified as a 22-year-old male from San Gabriel. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, April 1: 11. At 7:54 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of Lucille Street regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage captured a Hispanic male suspect, approximately 6’ tall and wearing a black jacket and pants steal the victim’s bicycle. The crime occurred at 6:30 a.m. on April 1st.
12. At 11:10 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of West Rodell Place regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim stated he left his Chrysler Pacifica unlocked when someone entered the vehicle and stole a laptop and a camera. The incident occurred sometime between Friday, March 11th and Saturday, March 12th.
Saturday, April 2:
13. At 2:42 p.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of Las Tunas Drive regarding a stolen bicycle report. The victim discovered his electric bicycle, which was secured with a bike lock, had the lock cut and was stolen sometime during the previous day.
14. At 6:40 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of East Newman Avenue regarding a package theft report. Surveillance footage revealed a Hispanic male suspect stole the victim’s package from her porch. The suspect was seen wearing a blue baseball hat and a white tank top. The investigation is pending a review of the available footage.
