Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, July 10th through Saturday, July 16th,

For the period of Sunday, July 10th through Saturday, July 16th, the Police Department responded to 912 calls for service, of which 94 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.






Sunday, July 10:

  1. At 1:24 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of St. Joseph Avenue regarding a vandalism in progress. The officer was unable to locate the suspects but discovered they had graffitied on a concrete wall.

  2. At 12:05 p.m., an officer responded to 99 Ranch Market, located at 1300 South Golden West Avenue, regarding a stolen vehicle report. An investigation revealed a passenger was sitting inside the running and unlocked vehicle when two suspects entered the vehicle and stole it. When the passenger alerted them that she was in the vehicle, she was able to exit, and the suspects drove away with the stolen vehicle. They are described as a 50 to 55- year-old Hispanic male and a 60 to 65-year-old White male.

Monday, July 11: 3. At 12:21 a.m., an officer responded to the Residence Inn, located at 321 East Huntington Drive, regarding a battery report. The officer discovered an altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend resulted in the boyfriend hitting the victim in the back of her head. The victim was transported to USC Arcadia for an examination. The suspect, a 40-year-old male, is outstanding as of July 19th. A records check revealed the suspect has numerous outstanding warrants.

4. At 8:43 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of California Street regarding a burglary. The reporting party determined someone had entered the newly constructed home and vandalized the interior. It also appeared as though the suspect(s) were living in the vacant home.

Tuesday, July 12:

5. At 2:38 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of East La Sierra Drive regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed the victim received a suspicious email requesting her to transfer money into an investment account. The victim determined the email was a scam and did not sustain any financial loss.


6. At 3:10 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage captured the suspect steal more than $1,260.00 worth of merchandise. The suspect, a 33-year-old male from Maiden, North Carolina, was also in possession of burglary tools when he was arrested. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed he also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.


Wednesday, July 13:

7. At 4:30 p.m., an officer responded to Big Lots, located at 610 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a grand theft incident. The officer determined the suspects, two Hispanic males, stole four 55” televisions. They fled southbound on Baldwin Avenue.


8. At 8:36 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Second Avenue and Camino Real Avenue regarding an attempted robbery incident. An investigation revealed two suspects exited their vehicle and attempted to rob two victims, who were walking near the street. The victims began to yell causing the suspects to flee. The suspects fled emptyhanded. The two suspects and a third suspect driving the vehicle were later identified as three males from Baldwin Park, a16-year-old, a 19-year-old, and a 22-year-old. They were arrested by Baldwin Park Police Department and were responsible for a string of street robberies in neighboring cities.


Thursday, July 14:

9. At 2:21 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Valencia Way regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer discovered someone smashed the victim’s car window sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on July 14th but fled emptyhanded.


10. At 4:19 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department, located at 250 West Huntington Drive, regarding a disturbance in the lobby. Upon contacting the suspect, the officer determined the 28-year-old male from Monrovia exhibited signs of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and became combative with the officer. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Friday, July 15:

11. At 12:03 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a burglary report. The victim discovered someone had tampered with a rear door lock, entered the home, ransacked multiple rooms, and fled with the victim’s camera.


12. At 2:30 p.m., an officer responded to the 1600 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. Sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on July 15th, someone entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and fled with a purse.


Saturday, July 16:

13. At 12:19 p.m., an officer responded to StorAmerica, located at 5630 Peck Road, regarding a commercial burglary incident. The victim reported someone entered their storage unit and fled with personal documents. The incident occurred between January 1, 2022, and July 16th.


14. At 7:10 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of Oakhurst Lane regarding a subject asleep at the wheel of his running vehicle. Upon contacting the driver, the officer determined the 43-year-old male from Los Angeles, was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
