Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, January 2nd through Saturday, January 8th


For the period of Sunday, January 2nd through Saturday, January 8th, the Police Department responded to 730 calls for service, of which 90 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, January 2:

  1. At 8:28 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between 5:40 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 2nd, someone smashed the window of the victim’s 2021 Ford Ranger and stole tools.

  2. At 10:46 a.m., an officer responded to the 300 block of East Huntington Drive regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim discovered a generator and tools were stolen from the unsecured truck bed between Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

  3. At 8:33 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Live Oak Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle in the area. An Automated License Plate Reader System alerted of a stolen gray Honda Pilot in the area. Officers located the vehicle and the driver, a 32- year-old female from San Gabriel, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed the suspect also had two outstanding warrants.


Monday, January 3:

4. At 1:38 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Old Ranch Road regarding an audible alarm activation. An investigation revealed unidentified suspect(s) broke a second story glass door, they ransacked the master bedroom and bathroom, and fled with an unknown amount of property.


5. At 7:17 a.m., an officer responded to JCC Auto Repair, located at 28 West Live Oak Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. The reporting party discovered that someone had pried open the front door and stole valuable tools and equipment.


Tuesday, January 4:

6. At 11:58 a.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of Arbolada Drive regarding a fraud investigation. The victim was notified by the bank that someone had fraudulently withdrawn more than $7,500.00 from her bank account. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained her banking information or the identity of the suspect.


7. At 5:24 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter to take a report of fraud that had occurred at the United States Post Office, located at 41 Wheeler Avenue. An investigation revealed someone stole a check from a post office mail box, altered the amount, and cashed the check. The investigation is ongoing.


Wednesday, January 5: 8. At 10:36 a.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of East Live Oak Avenue regarding a battery incident. The officer determined the victim was lured outside of his home by a female suspect and was beaten by two male suspects. The victim believes the incident was retaliation over a past encounter with a neighbor. Suspect 1 is described as a White female, between the ages of 20 and 30-years-old, with red hair and was approximately 5’6” tall and 200 pounds. Suspect 2 is a Black male, approximately 5’ tall, 120 pounds and suspect 3 is described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 35-years-old, with a ponytail and a tattoo on both eye lids. The investigation is ongoing.

Thursday, January 6:

9. At 6:53 p.m., an officer responded to Westfield Santa Anita Mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft. The suspect stole nearly $400.00 worth of cosmetics from Sephora before he was approached by the loss prevention employee. The 17-year-old male from West Covina was cited and released to his parents.


10. At 8:24 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Highland Vista Drive regarding a burglary report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect pried open a rear sliding door to the home, but it does not appear as though the suspect entered and no loss was reported. The victim may have scared the suspect off as he was home during the time of the crime.


Friday, January 7:

11. At 7:10 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of East Santa Clara Street regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., someone pried open tool boxes attached to the victim’s truck and stole multiple tools. The investigation is pending a review of the available surveillance footage.


12. At 11:14 a.m., an officer responded to the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a robbery report. The victim confronted the suspect as he was stealing gardening equipment from the victim’s truck, resulting in the suspect pulling a handgun and threatening the victim. The suspects fled in a grey, newer model grey Dodge RAM truck. The suspects were described as three Hispanic males, approximately 25-years-old, and the armed suspect spoke Spanish. The investigation is ongoing.


Saturday, January 8:

13. At 6:33 a.m., an officer responded to Shiseido Cosmetics, located at 651 West Duarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. The victim discovered unknown suspects shattered the front glass door, ransacked the business, stole the cash register, and fled with a large amount of cosmetics.


14. At 12:09 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed two suspects stole five Moncler jackets. The suspects are described as one male between the ages of 35 and 40-years-old, 5’10” tall, 200 pounds, seen wearing a black beanie, white T-shirt, black jacket, black pants, and a black face mask. The second suspect is a female, also 35 to 40-years-old, 5’6” tall, 150 to 160 pounds, wearing a brown baseball hat, a long black coat, and a face mask. The investigation is ongoing.
