Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report- Sunday, January 16th through Saturday, January 22n

For the period of Sunday, January 16th through Saturday, January 22nd, the Police Department responded to 966 calls for service, of which 100 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, January 16:

  1. At 9:57 a.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of West Duarte Road regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime during the previous night, the victim’s Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen from the street where it was parked.

  2. At 3:40 p.m., an officer responded to the area of South Sixth Avenue and Leda Lane regarding a disturbance. Officers found an intoxicated male threatening people with a screwdriver. An investigation revealed the suspect threw the screw driver at the victim’s car resulting in a dent. The 32-year-old male suspect from San Gabriel was located, arrested, and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Monday, January 17: 3. At 2:24 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of California Street regarding a grand theft report. The victim discovered his catalytic converter had been stolen from his Toyota Prius sometime during the previous evening. The investigation is pending a review of available surveillance footage.

4. At 6:06 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim stated the window to his Honda CRV was smashed and numerous pieces of clothing and medication were stolen. The crime happened sometime between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.

Tuesday, January 18:

5. At 6:50 a.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, located at 102 East Huntington Drive, regarding a transient asking customers for money. Upon contacting the subject, the officer detected signs of public intoxication. The 38-year-old local male transient was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed the suspect also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.


6. At 3:59 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Alice Street regarding a possible residential burglary report. An investigation revealed the owner of the home discovered the front door had been kicked in and it appeared as though someone had been living in the home without the owner’s permission. The loss is unknown as of the date of this report.


Wednesday, January 19:

7. At 1:21 p.m., an officer responded to Embassy Suites, located at 211 East Huntington Drive, regarding a grand theft report. The officer determined the suspect entered the victim’s room while they stepped out for breakfast and stole the victim’s wallet. The suspect is described as a 45 to 50-year-old female, either White or Hispanic, with dark hair, and seen wearing a dark- colored short sleeve dress and blue shoes. The investigation is ongoing.


8. At 3:14 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Duarte Road regarding a residential burglary report. The victim stated his electric bicycle was stolen from his open garage.


Thursday, January 20:

9. At 1:39 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and La Sierra Drive regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Through a series of tests, the officer discovered the driver had a blood alcohol content of .123%. The 19-year-old male from Ontario was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


10. At 5:26 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Wireless, located at 158 East Duarte Road, regarding a disturbance call. An investigation revealed a customer was upset and ultimately threw a display case at one of the employees. The suspect is a 22-year-old female from Arcadia. The investigation is ongoing.


Friday, January 21:

11. At 8:26 a.m., an officer responded to The Little Bra Company, located at 12101 Clark Street, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed an unknown suspect smashed the front glass door and stole electronics and a bra. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6’ tall, 200 pounds, wearing dark-colored attire, and face mask.


12. At 6:09 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Las Tunas Drive regarding a theft report. The officer determined the victim met with the suspect to sell him sports trading cards and when the victim turned away, the suspect fled with the stolen cards. The suspect is described as a tall Asian male with black hair, wearing a black sweater, and black sweatpants.


Saturday, January 22:

13. At 3:09 a.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a vehicle stopped in the roadway. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. The suspect displayed symptoms of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The 52-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


14. At 1:35 p.m., an officer responded to Bath and Body Works, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft. An investigation revealed four to five suspects entered the store and worked in concert to steal a large sum of merchandise. The suspects are described as three Black males and one Black female. The investigation is pending a review of the available surveillance footage.
