Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, August 13th through Saturday, August 19th


For the period of Sunday, August 13th through Saturday, August 19th, the Police Department responded to 1,001 calls for service, of which 114 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, August 13:

  1. At 11:38 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Lemon Avenue regarding the investigation of suspicious circumstances. A witness reported a suspicious person not known to the area was knocking on a neighbor’s door. The suspect fled and no burglary occurred, but the officer determined the description and circumstances matched a residential burglary that occurred early in the 500 block of West Palm Drive. The investigation is ongoing.

  2. At 9:59 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Lemon Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The victim stated upon returning from a short trip, they discovered their home had been burglarized and their safe containing two firearms had been stolen. The suspects entered by smashing a rear sliding glass door.


Monday, August 14: 3. At 1:49 p.m., an officer responded to the area of 100 East Las Flores Avenue regarding the investigation of an attempted robbery. The officer discovered three suspects, working in concert, attempted to steal gardening equipment from the victim’s utility trailer and when they failed, they attempted to rob the victim of his car keys. An area search was conducted, and the suspects were located. A 19-year-old male from El Monte, a 27-year-old male from Pasadena, and a 26-year-old male from Altadena were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The arrestees were also found to be in possession of burglary tools and two of the three arrestees had outstanding warrants. Tuesday, August 15:

4. At 10:48 a.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding an aggravated assault investigation. The victim was checking on his vacant property for trespassers when he encountered three of them. One of them confronted the victim and assaulted him with a large metal pipe. The victim was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6’ tall, with dark hair and facial hair.


5. At 10:48 a.m., an officer responded to the 5600 block of Peck Road regarding a recovered vehicle investigation. The officer discovered a burned stolen vehicle had been abandoned to the rear of the location. A records check revealed the vehicle had been stolen out of Los Angeles.

Wednesday, August 16:


6. At 9:27 p.m., an officer responded to the 1300 block of South Golden West Avenue regarding the investigation of a stolen vehicle. The victim stated the suspect, her ex- boyfriend, stole her car keys and then stole her vehicle. The vehicle and suspect were found near the 99 Ranch Market parking lot. The 37-year-old male from San Gabriel was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


7. At 11:42 p.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of North Baldwin Avenue regarding a residential burglary investigation. The officer discovered the residence had been burglarized and the suspect(s) fled with identifiable information, cash, and watches. The crime occurred sometime between August 13th and August 16th.


Friday, August 18: 8. At 1:16 a.m., an officer responded to REI, located at 214 North Santa Anita Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured three suspects attempting to enter the business by throwing rocks at the front glass window, kicking open the front door, and forcing the side door. They were unable to enter the building and fled. No loss was incurred. They were described as males wearing hooded sweatshirts and face coverings.
