Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, April 24th through Saturday, April 30th

For the period of Sunday, April 24th through Saturday, April 30th, the Police Department responded to 909 calls for service, of which 108 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, April 24:
At 4:59 a.m., officers responded to Hollywood Noodle, located at 48 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding the activation of a GPS tracking device. An investigation revealed the suspect, a 29- year-old female from Pico Rivera, and her boyfriend, a 29-year-old male, burglarized the restaurant and fled with an iPad and the stolen tracking device. The vehicle eventually yielded in the area of Live Oak Avenue and Arrow Highway, in the City of Irwindale. The male suspect fled on foot and evaded officers. The female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed she had an outstanding warrant and both suspects were on probation for burglary.
At 8:54 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, located at 300 West Huntington Drive, regarding an aggravated assault incident. The officer determined a victim was abruptly dropped off at the hospital after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. The driver fled without providing any information. The victim was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing, and it is currently unknown in what city the shooting occurred.
Monday, April 25:
3. At 11:18 a.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department to take a grand theft report. The incident occurred at 50 West Duarte Road. The victim stated he had gold coins stolen from his unlocked vehicle sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.
4. At 2:18 p.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim’s Honda Civic was stolen from the area sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on April 25th.
Tuesday, April 26:
5. At 8:55 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block Chelsea Road regarding a grand theft report. The victim discovered his catalytic converter had been stolen from his Honda Element between April 19th and 26th.
6. At 10:07 a.m., an officer responded to Banter, a kiosk located in the Westfield Santa Anita Mall at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) pried open the storage drawers and had stolen gold chains. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.
Wednesday, April 27:
7. At 7:52 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Santa Clara Street regarding a vandalism report. A witness stated the suspect was attempting to board the bus, that was out of service, and when he was told he could not board, he kicked the glass door causing it to break. The suspect fled on foot. He is described as a 40 to 50-year-old White male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and brown cargo pants.
8. At 10:28 a.m., officers responded to Eisenhower Park, located at 601 North Second Avenue, regarding a battery in progress. The officers determined the suspect, a 33-year-old female transient, had kicked the victim, her boyfriend. The victim declined medical attention. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, April 28:
9. At 1:49 a.m., an officer responded to Wells Fargo, located at 1200 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a vandalism report. Someone had spray-painted on the north side of the building. No suspects were seen, and no witnesses were located.
10. At 2:14 a.m., an officer responded to a dental office, located at 921 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage captured a lone suspect enter the business through an open rear door, he ransacked the office, and fled with an unknown amount of property. The suspect is described as an Asian male with shoulder length hair.
11. At 10:07 a.m., an officer responded to the area of 2nd Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, regarding a male subject bleeding from the head. Officers responded and discovered an unknown suspect pushed the victim to the ground, searched the victim’s pockets, and fled emptyhanded. Arcadia Fire responded and transported his to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for treatment. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’7”, 160 pounds, around 50-years-old, and wearing all dark grey clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, April 29:
12. At 12:02 p.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, located at 102 East Huntington Drive, regarding a trespassing incident. The officer located the suspect, a local transient who had an active trespass order on file and arrested the 36-year-old male. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
13. At 1:04 a.m., an officer responded to the 9400 block of West Duarte Road regarding a traffic collision between a moving vehicle and a parked car. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Through a series of tests, the officer concluded the suspect was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and had a blood alcohol content of 0.16%. The 22-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Saturday, April 30: 14. At 4:28 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Old Ranch Road regarding the activation of a GPS tracking device contained in a package. The device had been deployed as a way to combat package thefts throughout the city. The officer located the tracker and discovered someone had stolen the tracker along with the victim’s mail and discarded the tracker.
