Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - October 3rd through October 9th


For the period of Sunday, October 3rd through Saturday, October 9th, the Police Department responded to 1,101 calls for service, of which 104 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, October 3:

  1. At 8:40 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a residential burglary report. The officer determined an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle parked inside the open garage and fled with a bag containing a wallet and cash. The suspect then used the victim’s credit cards to make fraudulent purchases.

  2. At 6:39 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Live Oak Avenue regarding an aggravated assault incident. The suspect, a 39-year-old son, spit in the face of his elderly mother. Responding officers located the suspect who began throwing knives and a hatchet at them. The suspect then barricaded himself inside the residence. The Arcadia Police Department S.W.A.T. Team responded and arrested the Arcadia resident. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Monday, October 4:

3. At 7:16 a.m., an officer responded to the medical offices at 65 North First Avenue regarding a commercial burglary report. An investigation revealed the suspect, a 22-year-old homeless female, broke a window and was sleeping inside the business. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


4. At 8:07 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a grand theft report. The victim discovered her catalytic converter was stolen from her Toyota Tacoma truck. The incident happened sometime during the previous night.


5. At 8:57 a.m., an officer responded to 30 East Santa Clara Street regarding a vandalism report. The reporting party discovered the front glass door to the business had been damaged. While investigating the vandalism, officers became aware that suspects possibly responsible for the vandalism were seen near 7-Eleven, located at 102 East Huntington Drive. When officers contacted the subjects, they discovered a domestic dispute between the homeless couple resulted in the 30-year-old female had scratched and punched her boyfriend. She was arrested for battery. A records check of the couple revealed the boyfriend, a 26-year-old male from Bellflower, had an outstanding warrant. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The investigation of their involvement in the vandalism is ongoing.


Tuesday, October 5:

6. At 10:41 a.m., an officer responded to Corner Sense, located at 119 West Live Oak Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect stole the victim’s radiator hoses and gas from the gas tank of a 2019 Ford van sometime between October 1st at 2:00 p.m. and October 2nd at 9:00 a.m.


7. At 5:49 p.m., an officer observed a suspect vandalizing a dumpster enclosure near the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, located at 388 West Huntington Drive. A records check of the suspect revealed the 38-year-old homeless female had an outstanding warrant. She was arrested for the vandalism and the warrant. While being booked at the Arcadia City Jail, the officer discovered she was in possession of drug paraphernalia.


8. At 8:54 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of South Fifth Avenue regarding a package theft report. Sometime between September 21st and October 5th, someone stole two packages containing tools, weights, and clothing from the victim’s porch. Video surveillance captured images of a suspect described as a Hispanic male, heavy-set, with black hair, a beard, and a tattoo on his right shoulder.


Wednesday, October 6:

9. At 2:58 p.m., an officer responded to CVS, located at 1401 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a shoplifting incident. Four female suspects were captured on surveillance footage stealing numerous cosmetic items. They fled in an awaiting black, newer model Mercedes Benz sedan. The suspects are described as Black females in their early 20’s. There is no further suspect or vehicle description.


10. At 6:10 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of North First Avenue regarding a vandalism that had just occurred. The victim witnessed the suspect, later identified as a 46- year-old male homeless, using a black marker to graffiti on the victim’s property. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Thursday, October 7:

11. At 6:56 a.m., an officer responded to Wellness Professional Services, located at 411 East Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report. The victim discovered someone broke the front glass window of the building and ransacked the location. The loss is unknown at the time of this report.


12. At 7:31 a.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of Cortez Road regarding a theft from vehicle report. Surveillance footage revealed two male suspects exited a dark colored 4- door sedan and stole the victim’s catalytic converter from her Honda Accord.


Friday, October 8:

13. At 9:21 p.m., an officer responded to the Westfield Santa Anita mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. Sometime between 12:00 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. on October 8th, someone stole the victim’s catalytic converter from his Honda Accord while it was parked at the mall.

Saturday, October 9:

14. At 5:21 p.m., an officer responded to Sephora, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect, a 27-year-old female from San Gabriel, stole $240.00 worth of cosmetics. She was cited and released in the field.
