Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report- October 31 - November 6, 2021

For the period of Sunday, October 31st through Saturday, November 6th, the Police Department responded to 995 calls for service, of which 92 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, October 31:
At 8:03 a.m., an officer responded to Mercedes-Benz of Arcadia, located at 55 West Huntington Drive, regarding a vandalism report. The officer determined an unknown suspect smashed a large window to the car dealership. It does not appear that the suspect entered the business. The investigation is pending a review of the available surveillance footage.
At 1:39 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Diamond Street regarding a theft in progress. The suspects were seen opening numerous mailboxes and were in possession of stolen mail and burglary tools. A 29-year-old male from El Monte, a 34-year-old male from Temple City, and a 33-year-old female from El Monte were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The 34-year-old male from El Monte was also charged with being in possession of stolen debit cards.
Monday, November 1:
1. At 8:08 a.m., an officer responded to deCroupets, located at 23 East Huntington Drive, regarding a vandalism report. The officer discovered an unidentified suspect broke a front window sometime between October 30th and November 1st.
2. At 6:37 p.m., an officer responded to Forever 21, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. Surveillance footage captured a suspect stealing numerous pieces of clothing. The suspect, described as a female or possibly a transgender male with blonde and orange hair, fled to the interior of the mall.
Tuesday, November 2:
At 11:12 a.m., an officer responded to the 700 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a grand theft report. The victim stated his lawn mower and leaf blower were stolen from his truck between 10:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The suspects cut through a metal chain to steal the property.
At 12:33 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed a known suspect stole two pairs of sunglasses resulting in a loss of nearly $1,200.00. The suspect, a 57-year-old female from Los Angeles is outstanding as of November 9th.
Wednesday, November 3:
At 11:25 a.m., an officer responded to Extended Stay America, located at 401 East Santa Clara Street, regarding a stolen vehicle report. The reporting party lent out a rental truck to the suspect and reported it stolen when the suspect failed to return it on time. The suspect, a 69- year-old male from Arcadia, is outstanding as of the date of this report.
At 4:54 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department regarding a grand theft report. The victim stated an unidentified suspect hacked his Instagram account and held the account ransom for $1,000.00. The victim does not know how the suspect was able to access his account.
At 7:11 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Super Market, located at 645 West Duarte Road, regarding a battery report. The victim stated the suspect, another customer of the store, walked past her and threw an unknown object at her face for no apparent reason. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as an Asian female, approximately 50 to 59- years-old, 5’ tall, and 100 pounds with shoulder length grey hair. The investigation is pending a review of available surveillance footage.
At 11:43 p.m., an officer responded to Health Care Partners parking lot, located at 440 East Huntington Drive, regarding a hit and run investigation. The officer determined a domestic dispute escalated resulting in the male half running over the victim with his vehicle. Arcadia Fire responded to evaluate the victim. The suspect, a 30-year-old male from Glendora, is outstanding as of November 9th.
Thursday, November 4:
At 9:42 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia High School, located at 180 Campus Drive, regarding a vandalism report. An investigation revealed one suspect was identified in multiple vandalisms at the school. The 15-year-old male student from Arcadia was cited and released to a responsible adult.
At 3:46 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of Oakhurst Lane regarding a fraud investigation. The officer determined the victims had been scammed by a suspect posing to work for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Friday, November 5:
At 7:18 p.m., an officer responded to Pete’s Smoke Shop, located at 914 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a disturbance call. Officers located the subject who was banging on the window of the business and arrested him for outstanding misdemeanor warrants. While arresting the 36-year-old local male transient, he escaped from his handcuffs, resisted arrest, and began running from the officer. While running, he collided with a moving vehicle. The arrestee sustained multiple injuries. Arcadia Fire responded and transported the suspect to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment. While the suspect was being transported, the officer located a bag of methamphetamine. He was cited for the listed offenses.
At 7:10 p.m., an officer took a telephonic report of a grand theft incident. The victim stated she hired Speedway Moving and Storage, a moving company, to transport her belongings to her new home out of state. However, the victim never received her items.
