Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - March 6 - 12, 2022

For the period of Sunday, March 6th through Saturday, March 12th, the Police Department responded to 870 calls for service, of which 102 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, March 6:

  1. At 1:27 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Camino Real Avenue regarding a burglary report. The officer discovered unidentified suspect(s) smashed a rear window, ransacked the home, and fled with an undetermined amount of property. The crime occurred sometime between February 27th and March 6th.

  2. At 1:27 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of Santa Clara Street regarding a theft report. Surveillance footage captured the suspect steal a tool from the rear steps of the victim’s residence. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5’7” tall, 140 pounds, with a medium complexion and wearing a grey Adidas baseball hat and a grey t- shirt over a yellow sweater.

Monday, March 7: 3. At 11:29 a.m., an officer responded to Public Storage, located at 12340 Lower Azusa Road, regarding an attempted vehicle burglary. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect entered the secured parking lot through a pedestrian gate. Once inside, the suspect attempted to enter the victim’s car by opening the car door. The door was locked, and the suspect fled empty-handed. He is described as a Hispanic male, between 40 and 50-years-old, with a heavy build, dark hair, and seen wearing a dark blue hooded jacket, a blue t-shirt, grey shorts, and black shoes.

4. At 4:00 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia 210 Self Storage, located at 324 North Second Avenue, regarding a burglary report. The victim determined his storage unit was broken into and ransacked between March 5th and 7th. The loss is unknown. Tuesday, March 8:

5. At 11:58 a.m., an officer took a report of a theft that occurred in the 100 block of East Duarte Road. The reporting party discovered a security camera had been cut and removed from the wall where it was mounted. The crime occurred sometime between February 8th and March 8th.


6. At 11:33 p.m., an officer responded to the 2000 block of Terra Lane regarding a domestic disturbance call. An investigation revealed the dispute turned violent resulting in the male half hitting the female victim. The suspect, a 37-year-old male from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to the Pasadena City Jail for booking.

Wednesday, March 9:

7. At 6:28 a.m., an officer responded to the 2600 block of El Capitan Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime during the previous night, someone stole the victim’s Ford E350 van from the front of his residence.


8. At 2:36 p.m., an officer responded to Hugo Reid Elementary School, located at 1000 Hugo Reid Drive, regarding a driver potentially under the influence. Officers located the vehicle, conducted an enforcement stop, and detected the odor of alcohol emitting from the female driver. The officers determined the female was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage while driving a vehicle. The suspect also had her child in the car. The 48-year-old female from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Pasadena City Jail for booking.

Thursday, March 10:

9. At 12:11 a.m., an officer responded to Extended Stay, located at 401 East Santa Clara Street, regarding a battery incident. An investigation revealed a husband had battered his wife. The suspect, a 57-year-old male from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to the Pasadena City Jail for booking.


10. At 2:32 p.m., an officer responded to Matt Denny’s Alehouse, located at 145 East Huntington Drive, regarding a theft report. The investigation revealed the suspect entered the location and asked to speak to the manager. The suspect then walked into an office and stole cash. The theft was captured by surveillance cameras. The suspect is described as a black male, between the ages of 25 and 35-years-old, 180 pounds, with dreadlocks and seen wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans.


Friday, March 11:

11. At 5:48 p.m., an officer responded to the 1500 block of Rodeo Road regarding a theft from vehicle incident. Sometime during the previous night, someone entered the victim’s unlocked Chevrolet Traverse and fled with a wallet and miscellaneous items.


12. At 8:00 a.m., an officer responded to World Book Store Corporation, located at 1234 South Golden West Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed a single male suspect smashed the front glass door and appeared to look for lottery scratchers. The suspect ultimately fled empty-handed. He is described as a male wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a face mask.

aturday, March 12:

13. At 5:54 a.m., an officer responded to the area of 00 West Saint Joseph Street regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim discovered his Toyota Camry had a window smashed and the suspect fled with a backpack and electronics. The crime occurred sometime between 4:00 a.m. and 5:54 a.m. on March 12th.


14. At 11:18 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Naomi Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The victim determined someone stole her mail between 10 a.m. on March 11th and 11 a.m. on March 12th.
