Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - March 13 - 19, 2022

For the period of Sunday, March 13th through Saturday, March 19th, the Police Department responded to 866 calls for service, of which 101 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, March 13:
At 7:23 a.m., an officer responded to Boulevard Cleaners, located at 144 East Duarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. Sometime during the previous evening, someone smashed the front glass door to the business, but it doesn’t appear that the suspect(s) entered the location or stole any property.
At 12:12 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Walnut Avenue regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed a domestic dispute resulted in a son battering his mother and brother, resulting in severe injuries. Arcadia Fire responded and transported both victims to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment. The suspect, a 21-year-old male from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, March 14:
3. At 4:47 p.m., an officer responded to Cosmo Prof, located at 332 East Huntington Drive, regarding a petty theft. The officer discovered a transient came into the business and stole shampoo. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a black hat, dark colored shirt, and grey sweatpants.
4. At 6:24 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia 210 Self Storage, located at 324 North 2nd Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. An investigation revealed an unidentified suspect entered two storage units by unknown means. The loss has yet to be determined.
Tuesday, March 15:
5. At 8:46 a.m., an officer responded to Anyhill Electric Scooter, located at 11901 Goldring Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. The victim discovered the front glass door had been shattered but it doesn’t appear as though they entered the business or fled with any property.
6. At 9:35 a.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of El Dorado Street regarding a theft from vehicle incident. Surveillance footage captured a lone suspect enter the victim’s car and flee with a bag containing stolen clothing and a wallet. The suspect is described as a White female, heavy-set, with brown hair and wearing a green jacket. The victim’s stolen credit card was then used a short time later to complete a fraudulent purchase.
7. At 11:12 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of San Simeon Road regarding a mail theft report. The victim located a package in his mail box that contained recovered mail that had been stolen from various Arcadia and Rancho Cucamonga addresses. The victim also had a package stolen worth approximately $160.00.
Wednesday, March 16:
8. At 12:43 a.m., an officer took a report of a battery that occurred in a residence located in the 00 block of Diamond Street. An investigation revealed an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend had turned violent when the male half grabbed and shook the victim. The suspect, a 27-year-old male from Arcadia, was unable to be reached. The investigation is ongoing.
9. At 8:28 a.m., an officer responded to Extended Stay America, located at 401 East Santa Clara Street, regarding a drunken subject. The officers located the subject, who was causing a scene in the hotel lobby, and discovered he was under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for his safety. The 51-year-old male from Temple City was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, March 17:
10. At 1:11 p.m., an officer responded to the 700 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a stolen vehicle report. The officer discovered the victim left his vehicle running with the doors unlocked in front of the location and observed someone driving it southbound on Baldwin Avenue.
11. At 1:00 p.m., an officer responded to the 600 block of West Duarte Road regarding a grand theft report. The victim stated he arranged to meet with the suspect to sell her an Apple iPhone and when the suspect asked to see if her SIM card would work in the phone, she took the phone and fled in a dark colored sedan. The suspect is described as a Black female between the ages of 30 and 35-years-old. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, March 18:
12. At 9:49 a.m., an officer and Arcadia Fire responded to the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Rodeo Road regarding a medical assist call for service. Upon contacting the subject, who was sitting behind the wheel, slumped over in the driver’s seat, they discovered the 22-year-old male from Castaic was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine. He was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment prior to being arrested.
13. At 1:04 p.m., an officer responded to an apartment in the 900 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a petty theft report. Surveillance footage captured the suspect stealing the victim’s patio furniture covering while delivering food to another tenant. The suspect is described as an Asian male between the ages of 40 and 70-years-old. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.
Saturday, March 19: 14. At 8:21 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of West Woodruff Avenue regarding a burglary report. Sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 8:10 p.m. on March 19th, someone smashed the rear glass door and attempted to burglarize the home. It does not appear that the suspect(s) fled with any stolen property.
