Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report July 4 - July 10, 2021




For the period of Sunday, July 4 through Saturday, July 10 , the Police Department responded to 999 calls for service, of which 91 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, July 4:

  1. At 12:51 a.m., while searching for possible residential burglary suspects in the area of Colorado Boulevard and Vaquero Road, an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a bicyclist for not having the proper lighting when the subject failed to stop. A search of the suspect revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and he had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The 35-year-old male from Baldwin Park was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

  2. At 9:30 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Santa Anita Avenue regarding a battery investigation. An altercation between a husband and wife resulted in the suspect striking his wife multiple times in the face. The 43-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The victim declined medical attention.

Monday, July 5:

3. At 9:16 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Second Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. A witness reported seeing the suspect opening a locked vehicle by reaching in through an open window. The suspect, a 23-year-old female transient, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


4. At 4:55 p.m., an officer responded to CHH Quality Products, located at 52 West Live Oak Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. Sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.onJuly5 ,someone cut the screen to an open window and entered the business.They fled with $40.00 worth of food.



5. At 6:22 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driving the wrong way near the intersection of Holly Avenue and Duarte Road. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. Through a series of tests, the officers concluded the suspect was driving with a blood alcohol level of .27%. The 27- year-old male from La Puente was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Tuesday, July 6:

6. At 11:20 a.m., an officer responded to the 300 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a grand theft report. The victim determined his catalytic converter had been stolen from his Toyota th Prius at approximately 12:30 a.m. on the morning of July 6 .


7. At 2:39 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of South Third Avenue regarding a mail theft report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect opened the community mailbox and stole outgoing mail. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect is a male, possibly Hispanic, who fled on a skateboard after committing the theft.


Wednesday, July 7:

8. At 9:41 a.m., an officer responded to Ralphs, located at 211 East Foothill Boulevard, regarding a theft report. The suspect was seen stealing approximately $40.00 worth of merchandise. The 43-year-old female transient was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


9. At 3:08 p.m., an officer responded to Embassy Suites, located at 211 East Huntington Drive, regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed the victim welcomed a guest into her hotel room. The male guest touched the victim inappropriately and stole her cellphone. The suspect is described as a 25 to 30-year-old black male, approximately 5’9” tall, and 170 pounds.


Thursday, July 8: 10. At 7:01 a.m., an officer responded to Congress Orthopedic Associate, located at 289 West Huntington Drive, regarding a trespassing report. The reporting party asked the subject to leave the location, but the 46-year-old male transient refused to leave. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

11. At 2:00 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Oxford Drive regarding a robbery report. An investigation revealed the victim confronted the suspects as they were stealing his hedge trimmer. During the confrontation, the suspects threw the trimmer at the victim causing a laceration to his face and returned moments later to throw a brick at the victim’s car. The suspects, described as Hispanic males in their 20’s, fled in a tan Honda Odyssey van. Arcadia Fire responded but the victim declined medical treatment.

Friday, July 9:

12. At 6:40 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Huntington Drive and Second Avenue regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver, the officer noticed signs of drug use. During an inventory of the vehicle, the officer located glass smoking pipes, methamphetamine, and hydrocodone prescribed to someone other than the driver. The 31- year-old male from Duarte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


13. At 8:53 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Huntington Drive and Second Avenue regarding the activation of a GPS tracking device that had been previously deployed to combat a rise in package thefts. An investigation revealed a suspect stole the package and fled on a motorcycle, only to abandon the package near his motorcycle and flee on foot. The investigation is ongoing.

Saturday, July 10:

14. At 9:39 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of East Arthur Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. Sometime during the previous night, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked Toyota Camry and stole her identification card and employer access cards.
