Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report- July 18 - July 24, 2021

For the period of Sunday, July 18 through Saturday, July 24 , the Police Department responded to 1,063 calls for service, of which 124 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, July 18:

  1. At 1:18 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Doolittle Avenue regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed an altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend resulted in the male half hitting and injuring the female victim. Arcadia Fire responded and rendered aid on scene. The suspect, an 18-year-old male from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

  2. At 1:18 p.m., an officer responded to Judy Beauty Salon, located at 54 Bonita Street, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed an unidentified suspect entered the business by breaking a window lock and stole beauty supplies. The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old male, approximately 5’8” tall, about 200 pounds, and wearing a light-colored baseball hat, light-colored shirt, and dark shorts.

Monday, July 19:


3. At 4:46 a.m., an officer responded to the area of Hampton Road and Dexter Avenue regarding the activation of a GPS tracking device. The officer determined two female suspects were in possession of the stolen tracking device, numerous pieces of stolen mail, and were in possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. The suspects, a 21-year-old female from Fontana and a 33-year-old female from Riverside, were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


4. At 12:44 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of First Avenue and California Street regarding a vandalism report. A witnessed stated he saw the suspect vandalize a stop sign by writing “MCF”. The officer located the suspect and arrested the 19-year-old male from Los Angeles. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


5. At 6:36 p.m., an officer responded to Eisenhower Park, located at 601 North First Avenue, regarding a theft report. The victim witnessed the suspect steal his backpack from the dog park. The suspect, a 23-year-old local female transient, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Tuesday, July 20: 6. At 9:00 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of California Street regarding a burglary report. The officer determined an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked garage and once inside, the suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and stole various items and the garage door opener. The suspects then used the garage door opener to flee from the location.

Wednesday, July 21:

7. At 8:33 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a grand theft report that occurred at Lululemon at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue. The loss prevention employee discovered a known suspect had stolen more than $2,200.00 worth of merchandise on July 10th and attempted to sell it at a flea market in San Jose, California. The suspect was identified as a 31-year-old male from Arcadia and an unidentified Hispanic female.


8. At 8:59 p.m., an officer responded to the Westfield Santa Anita Mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 6:03 p.m. and 8:59 p.m., someone stole the victim’s Hyundai Sonata from the mall parking lot.


Thursday, July 22:

9. At 2:18 p.m., an officer responded to Takashima, located at 1130 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a robbery that had just occurred. An investigation revealed the lone suspect entered the store, went straight to the back room, and began placing cosmetic merchandise in a bag. The cashier attempted to block him as he tried to exit, but the suspect pushed the cashier to the floor. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a large build and approximately 30-years-old. He was wearing a dark shirt, dark shorts, a gray mask, and a black hat.


10. At 3:55 p.m., an officer was flagged down and asked to respond to 7-Eleven, located at 102 East Huntington Drive, regarding a theft report. The victim witnessed the suspect steal his bicycle which had been left outside of the 7-Eleven entrance. The suspect, a 32-year-old male transient from West Covina, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Friday, July 23:

11. At 7:10 a.m., an officer responded to APJ Water, located at 227 South First Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer discovered sometime during the previous evening, an unidentified suspect smashed the front glass door to the business and ransacked the location. Cash and coins were stolen from the business.


12. At 5:11 p.m., an officer responded to Bank of America, located at 1234 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect installed a smoke detector with a video camera and a skimming device at the atm on the west side of the building.


13. At 8:20 p.m., an officer responded to an apartment complex in the 00 block of Wheeler Avenue regarding a vandalism report. The officer discovered someone spray-painted over one of the surveillance cameras located in the elevator lobby. The video captured the suspect, and he is described as a white male wearing a face mask, a black hat, black shirt, blue jeans, red Vans shoes, and seen carrying a green backpack.

Saturday, July 24: 14. At 7:33 a.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of West Camino Real Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report. Sometime during the previous evening, an unidentified suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a laptop and headphones.
