Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report For the period of Sunday, September 1st, through Sa

For the period of Sunday, September 1st, through Saturday, September 7th, the Police Department responded to 1,052 calls for service, of which 131 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, September 1:

  1. Shortly before 6:42 a.m., an officer responded to the 2000 block of South Second Avenue regarding a solo vehicle traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol and the driver admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the suspect was driving with a blood alcohol content of .18%. The 23-year-old male from Duarte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

  2. At approximately 7:21 a.m., an officer responded to Vi Spa Massage, 500 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed three unidentified suspects smashed the front glass window, ransacked the business, and fled with an unknown amount of property. The investigation is ongoing.

Monday, September 2:

3. Just after 8:26 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 00 block of Lucille Street regarding a battery between two siblings. An investigation revealed an altercation between the male and female siblings resulted in the suspect hitting his sister with a large, rigid, PVC hula hoop causing bruising and welts. The 41-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

4. At approximately 1:12 p.m., an officer responded to a residence under construction in the 100 block of West Norman Avenue regarding an attempted burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed a lone male suspect exited his grey BMW, went onto the premises multiple times and attempted to enter the residence. The investigation is ongoing.




Tuesday, September 3:

  1. Around 6:05 a.m., an officer responded to Foothills Middle School, 171 East Sycamore Avenue, regarding a vandalism report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect damaged the drink vending machine sometime during the holiday weekend. A similar vandalism was reported from Arcadia High School, 180 Campus Drive. The investigations are ongoing.

  2. Just before 8:24 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of California Street regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime during the early morning hours on September 3rd, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s Toyota Avalon. No suspects were seen and no witnesses werelocated.

Wednesday, September 4:

  1. At about 8:36 a.m., an officer responded to OMNI Housewear Inc, 11932 Clark Street, regarding a commercial burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) smashed a main window, ransacked the location, and stole a digital camera. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

  2. Shortly after 12:35 p.m., an officer responded to 99 Cent Store, 140 East Duarte Road, regarding a sexual battery report. The officer discovered the suspect had video recordedunder a woman’s skirt without her permission. The suspect, later identified as a 29-year- old male from Los Angeles, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

  3. Before 7:15 p.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a cat left in an unattended vehicle on a hot day. Arcadia Fire responded and opened the vehicle. The cat was turned over to Pasadena Humane Society. The suspect, a 26-year-old male from Los Angeles, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

  4. At about 9:06 p.m., an officer responded to Solstice, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. A store employee witnessed four suspects steal approximately 31 pairs of Gucci sunglasses, a total loss of nearly $12,000.00.

The suspects are described as four black males, all approximately 20-years-old with average heights and builds. The investigation is ongoing.






Thursday, September 5:

  1. Shortly after 5:16 p.m., an officer responded to Rebag, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. The officer discovered three male suspects entered the store, stole five designer handbags valued at $19,290.00, and smashed a window while exiting the store.

The suspects are described as three black males, approximate ages of 18 to 21-years-old, with short black hair and dark complexions. The investigation is ongoing.

  1. Around 7:31 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of West Orange Grove Avenue, regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspects smashed one of the windows, ransacked the home, and fled with jewelry and a digital camera. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Friday, September 6:

13. Just before 4:42 p.m., officers responded to the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding thefts at multiple stores within the mall. An investigation revealed five suspects were seen stealing from multiple retailers at the mall and accumulated a total of $6,761.46 worth of merchandise. A 34-year-old female from Phoenix, AZ, a 32-year-old male from Glendale, AZ, an 18-year-old female from Glendale, AZ, and a 20-year-old male from Firebaugh, CA were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Saturday, September 7:

14. At approximately 6:32 p.m., an officer responded to Fishing Boat Restaurant, 516 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. The victim stated he had his unattended cellphone stolen from him by an unknown male suspect. The suspect is believed to be a 48-year-old male from El Monte. The investigation is ongoing.
