Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report For the period of Sunday, December 30th, through Sa

For the period of Sunday, December 30th, through Saturday, January 5th, the Police Department responded to 948 calls for service, of which 103 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, December 30:
Shortly before 3:54 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of South Baldwin Avenue and Gate 9 for having their high beams on. Upon contacting the driver, the 30-year-old female from Monrovia admitted to being in possession of drug paraphernalia. During a consensual search of the vehicle, the officer located heroin, methamphetamine, and a smoking pipe. A records check revealed she had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., an officer initiated an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Station Bar, 1218 South Baldwin Avenue, for driving recklessly. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. A series of tests revealed the 23-year-old male from Martinez, California had a blood alcohol content of .122%. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, December 31:
Just after 10:45 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Highland Oaks Drive regarding a package theft report. Surveillance footage revealed a malesuspect stole the victim’s package on this date, at 10:39 a.m.
The suspect was seen wearing a black shirt, black basketball shorts, and black shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 5:22 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a fraud report. The reporting party, a recent victim of a residential burglary, stated their friend’s credit card was stolen during the burglary and was used to make fraudulent purchases. The investigation is ongoing.
Tuesday, January 1:
Around 7:29 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Hacienda Drive regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed four suspects encountered the victim and fled to an awaiting vehicle.
The suspects are described as four black males. They were driving a silver sedan. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 5:48 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, 300 West Huntington Drive, regarding a battery report against a nurse. The officer discovered a female caregiver of a patient grabbed and pushed a nurse. The 42-year-old female from Fontana was gone by the time officers arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, January 2:
At about 2:34 a.m., officers responded to a car on fire near the intersection of Randolph Street and Peck Road. El Monte Police Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and had extinguished the fire before APD officers arrived. No injuries were reported. The arson investigation is ongoing.
Shortly after 4:43 a.m., an officer responded to the 1100 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim stated his 2004 Nissan Sentra was stolen from the location sometime between December 30th and January 2nd. The vehicle was located by Los Angeles Police Department in the West Valley area with severe damage and missing license plates. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, January 3:
Before 8:18 a.m., an officer responded to the area of First Avenue and Camino Real Avenue regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed an altercation occurred between a male and female resulting in the female suspect punching the male victim in the chest. The 54-year-old female from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 2:18 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of Campesina Road regarding a burglary report. The victim discovered unknown suspect(s) smashed a rear window, ransacked the home, and fled with jewelry and crystal glassware. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, January 4:
At about 9:27 a.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of South Holly Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed a white, 2-door vehicle parked, the suspect smashed the victim’s window, and stole a lunch bag. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 11:27 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of North Altura Road regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect stolethe victim’s check after it was mailed, altered it, and fraudulently cashed it. Thefraudulently modified check had been issued to a “Mitchell Klein”. The victim does not know a “Mitchell Klein” or the identity of the suspect.
Saturday, January 5:
Shortly after 12:07 a.m., an officer witnessed two subjects arguing before entering their their vehicle and driving away. The driver began driving erratically and the officer initiated a traffic stop. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from inside the vehicle. The 34-year-old male driver from El Monte admitted to having an open alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 9:14 a.m., an officer responded to Tierra Verde Park, 211 East Camino Real Avenue regarding a vandalism report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect used spray paint to graffiti one of the restroom doors. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
