Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report For the period of Sunday, April 4 through Saturday,

The Police Department responded to 1,062 calls for service, of which 119 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, April 4:
1. At 1:32 p.m., an officer responded to the 1100 block of Highland Oaks Drive regarding a vehicle burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed a male suspect smashed the front passenger window before stealing the victim’s jacket and fleeing in an older-model Ford F- 150 pickup truck.
Monday, April 5:
2. At 9:27 a.m., an officer responded to Phoenix Medical, located at 159 East Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report. The victim discovered the business had been broken into over the weekend by unidentified suspect(s) who entered and exited through a window that had been forced open. The suspect(s) fled with computers, electronics, and bottles of liquor.
Tuesday, April 6:
3. At 4:47 a.m., an officer responded to Taco Lita, located at 120 East Duarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage revealed a lone suspect smashed the rear glass door with a pipe and fled empty-handed. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’10” tall, 220 pounds, with a large build, black hair, and he was seen wearing blue jeans, a gray sweatshirt, and a white t-shirt.
At 9:21 a.m., an officer responded to Terra Verde Park, located at 200 East Camino RealAvenue, regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. onth April6 ,someonetamperedwiththevictim’sdoorlockandstoleher2014HyundaiSantaFe.
At 9:46 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Winnie Way and Andrews Road regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim stated his leaf blower, hedge trimmer, and checks issued to the victim were stolen from his 2015 Nissan van. The theft occurredth between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on April 6 .
At 6:05 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The victim believes her mail was stolen from her mailbox. There were no signs of forced entry to her locked mailbox and the victim is the only person with a key to the mailbox.
Wednesday, April 7:
At 11:00 a.m., an officer responded to StorAmerica Self Storage, located at 5630 Peck Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) broke into multiple storage units and fled with jewelry and foreign currency. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.
At 3:12 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of El Dorado Street regarding a mail theftrd th report. Sometime between Saturday, April 3 and Wednesday, April 7 , unidentified suspectspried open the apartment complex community mailbox and stole an unknown amount of mail.
Thursday, April 8:
At 10:21 a.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of Oakhurst Lane regarding a fraud report. The victim was notified by her bank that a $900.00 check had been cashed and withdrawn from her account. An investigation revealed the victim’s bank mailed her blank checks, which the victim never received, and an unknown suspect used the stolen checks to withdraw funds from the victim’s account.
At 6:31 p.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of Mayflower Avenue regarding a grand theft report. The victim set down a camera bag in her driveway when the suspect, who was driving by, then stopped his vehicle, grabbed the camera bag, and drove away. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 40 to 50-years-old, seen wearing a baseball cap and a white shirt. Surveillance footage was located, and the investigation is pending a review of the video.
Friday, April 9:
At 11:54 a.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a vandalism report. The suspect, a 29-year-old male from West Valley, Utah, scratched the victim’s car door for no apparent reason. The suspect was cited and released in the field.
At 10:13 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a theft report. It appeared that mail may have been stolen from a community mailbox, but no one at the location could confirm a theft.
At 10:52 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of West Camino Real Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed the unidentified suspect entered the home through an unlocked front door when he encountered the victim. The suspect fled empty-handed. Surveillance footage captured the suspect and indicated he is a Hispanic male in his early 30’s, approximately 6’ tall and 200 pounds, and was seeing wearing a black and white hat, and a black shirt and shorts.
At 7:12 p.m., an officer responded to the 700 block of Sunset Boulevard regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim witnessed the suspect steal her bag from her unlocked vehicle. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male seen wearing all black clothing and a black hat.
