Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report-2/6/2022 - 2/12/2022

For the period of Sunday, February 6th through Saturday, February 12th, the Police Department responded to 919 calls for service, of which 110 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, February 6:

  1. At 9:42 a.m., an officer contacted a subject in the area of Foothill Boulevard and First Avenue. During the consensual encounter, the suspect admitted to being in possession of methamphetamine and a smoking pipe. The 45-yer-old male from Glendora was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

  2. At 12:08 p.m., an officer responded to Grocery Outlet, located at 165 East Foothill Boulevard, regarding a fight in progress. An investigation revealed two male subjects were arguing when one of the men hit the other with a wooden stick. The fight was mutual and neither party was arrested, however, the investigation is ongoing.

Monday, February 7:

3. At 12:47 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Paxson Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The victim stated she witnessed the suspect steal her mail from her mailbox and flee in a dark blue, two-door Honda. The suspect is described as a Hispanic female in her 30s or 40s, wearing a blue floral shirt with dark hair in a bun. The investigation is ongoing.

4. At 3:18 p.m., an officer responded to 125 North First Avenue regarding an assault investigation. The officer discovered the elderly victim was pushed to the ground, for no apparent reason, by the unidentified suspect. The suspect then boarded the westbound train. He is described as a Hispanic male with dark hair, approximately 5’8” tall, with a larger build and wearing dark-colored clothing. The investigation is ongoing. Tuesday, February 8:

5. At 4:51 a.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of North Santa Anita Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime during the previous night, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s rear window and stole her purse containing credit and debit cards. The suspect then used the stolen bank cards to make fraudulent purchases. The investigation is ongoing.


6. At 9:59 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of Lucille Street regarding an extortion report. The victim stated he received flirty messages on Instagram from the suspect’s account. After messaging each other, the victim sent elicit photos of himself to the suspect. The suspect ultimately forwarded the victim’s elicit photos to his sister when the victim refused to pay a $300 ransom. The identity of the suspect has not been determined.


Wednesday, February 9:

7. At 6:16 a.m., an officer responded to Coldwell Banker, located at 660 West Huntington Drive, regarding a suspicious subject in the area. Upon contacting the subject, the officer discovered she was in possession of a stolen package, stolen mail, and had two outstanding warrants. The 30-year-old female from Santa Ana was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


8. At 7:32 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of California Street regarding a residential burglary. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect broke open a lock box, used the keys to enter the home, and used the shower. No other loss was reported.


Thursday, February 10:

9. At 12:55 p.m., an officer took a grand theft report that occurred at Friar Tux, located at 1000 South Baldwin Avenue. The officer discovered an employee had conducted fraudulent returns amounting to a loss of $22,000. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect is outstanding as of the publication of this report.


10. At 10:41 p.m., an officer responded to Luxy Karaoke, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a report of a threat. The victim stated a male suspect entered several rooms and harassed customers. After being asked to leave by the victim, the suspect threatened to shoot her. The suspect is described as an Asian male, approximately 50 to 55-years-old, around 5’7” tall, 130 pounds, and wearing a green military-style jacket with black pants and black shoes.


Friday, February 11:

11. At 1:53 a.m., an officer responded to Knockouts Topless Sports Bar, located at 1580 Clark Street, regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed two employees engaged in a mutual fight resulting in one of the women sustaining minor injuries to her face. Arcadia Fire transported the female to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for an assessment. The incident is under investigation.


12. At 2:10 p.m., an officer responded to Grocery Outlet, located at 140 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding an aggravated assault report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect concealed various items in her purse before exiting the store, failing to pay for the items. However, when the store owner confronted her, she entered her vehicle and attempted to hit him while driving away. The suspect, an Asian female between the ages of 40 and 45, fled in a white sedan. The investigation is pending a review of the footage.


Saturday, February 12:

13. At 6:47 a.m., an officer responded to Cherub Technology, located at 11940 Goldring Avenue, regarding an alarm activation. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) pried open the front door and burglarized the business. The loss is unknown.


14. At 7:44 p.m., an officer responded to Meizhong Dongpo, a restaurant located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. The suspect, a 41-year-old male from Santa Monica, consumed almost $80.00 worth of food and drinks before leaving and failing to pay. The suspect was arrested and issued a citation.
