Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - 2/13 - 2/19/2022

For the period of Sunday, February 13th through Saturday, February 19th, the Police Department responded to 805 calls for service, of which 112 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, February 13:

  1. At 12:38 a.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, located at 102 East Huntington Drive, regarding a battery investigation. The officer determined a female customer grew angry when her purchase was declined and threw a cup of coffee at an employee. The suspect is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 110 pounds, with long curly hair. She fled in a red Ford Bronco. The investigation is ongoing.

  2. At 4:33 a.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, located at 200 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a battery incident. The victim, a store employee, stated the suspect threw a trash can at him after asking the suspect to put a mask on while inside the business. The suspect, described as a Black male, fled in a blue Volkswagen Tiguan. The investigation is ongoing.

Monday, February 14: 3. At 1:24 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a burglary report. Sometime between February 4th and February 14th, someone shattered the rear sliding glass door. It is unknown if any property was stolen. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.

4. At 5:38 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Longden Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The victim witnessed the suspect open her mailbox and a neighbor’s mailbox. Surveillance footage confirmed the suspect, a heavy-set Hispanic male, stole the victim’s mail. The suspect was seen driving a burgundy-colored Honda sedan. Further investigation by the officer revealed there were additional mail thefts in the area.

Tuesday, February 15:

5. At 4:21 a.m., an officer responded to Leslie’s Pool Supplies, located at 324 East Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage captured two suspects prying open the rear door and once inside, they stole two buckets of chlorine tablets. The suspects are described as two males.


6. At 1:07 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of El Dorado Street regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect cut the cloth top to the victim’s convertible in order to enter the vehicle. Once inside, the suspect stole miscellaneous items and ransacked the vehicle.


Wednesday, February 16:

7. At 9:33 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of East Forest Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime during the previous night, someone smashed one of the windows and stole the victim’s handbag.


8. At 5:15 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department to take a residential burglary report. The victim, a resident of the 00 block of El Dorado Street, reviewed his surveillance footage and discovered the suspect first attempted to enter his vehicles but then entered his backyard and attempted to enter his home. The victim confronted the suspect and he fled on foot. He is described as a male wearing a “puffer” style jacket with a beanie. The suspect may be responsible for additional burglaries in the area. The investigation is ongoing.


Thursday, February 17:

9. At 6:39 a.m., an officer responded to Outback Steakhouse, located at 166 West Huntington Drive, regarding a burglary report. The officer determined an unknown suspect smashed a glass door and ransacked the business. The loss is unknown at this time.


10. At 8:16 a.m., an officer responded to Grocery Outlet, located at 140 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a theft report. Surveillance footage captured two suspects stealing pallets from a secure area behind the business. The suspects, described as two Hispanic males, fled in an older model Toyota Tacoma truck.


Friday, February 18:

11. At 5:19 a.m., officers and Arcadia Fire responded to the rear alley of 113 East Santa Clara Street regarding a telephone pole on fire. The telephone pole had cardboard boxes piled at the base indicating the fire was set intentionally. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage. The fire was safely extinguished, and no injuries were reported.


12. At 7:03 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Rodell Place regarding a theft from vehicle report. Sometime between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on February 18th, someone entered the victim’s unlocked trunk and stole cash, a laptop, and a wallet.


Saturday, February 19:

13. At 11:57 a.m., an officer responded to Public Storage, located at 12340 Lower Azusa Road, regarding a burglary report. The victim discovered his storage unit had been forced open and the unit had been ransacked. The crime occurred between December 28, 2021 and February 18th.

14. At 2:37 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of East Sycamore Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim discovered someone had smashed her car window and stolen her wallet.
