Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report

For the period of Sunday, November 27th through Saturday, December 3rd, the Police Department responded to 957 calls for service, of which 84 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, November 27:
At 3:44 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Par 3 Golf Course regarding a commercial burglary. The officer discovered the security alarm was activated when an unknown suspect cut several locks and fled with a stolen golf cart.
At 4:15 a.m., officers responded to 7 Eleven, located at 200 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a robbery in progress. An investigation revealed a lone suspects entered the business, threatened the clerk with a handgun, and fled with cigarettes, lottery scratchers, and nicotine vape pens. The suspect is described as a male with a medium build, 5’9” tall, with a mask. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.,
Monday, November 28:
3. At 2:25 a.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a recovered stolen vehicle report. The officer determined a suspicious vehicle had been left running in the mall parking lots and a records check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Temple Station. No suspects were located at the scene and the vehicle was released to the registered owner.
4. At 9:42 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Rodeo Road regarding a grand theft incident. Sometime between November 25th at 1:00 a.m. and November 26th at 2:00 p.m., someone stole the victim’s catalytic converter from his Lexus SUV.
Tuesday, November 29:
5. At 5:06 a.m., an officer responded to Go-Go Liquor, located at 914 West Duarte Road, regarding a burglary alarm activation. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects smashed a front window and stole lottery scratchers. They fled in a tan Chevrolet Suburban. The suspects are described as two males wearing sweatshirts and masks.
6. At 7:08 a.m., an officer responded to the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim discovered someone entered his unlocked vehicle and fled with tools and a chainsaw. The crime occurred sometime during the previous night.
Wednesday, November 30:
7. At 12:15 p.m., an officer responded to Big Lots, located at 610 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed a store employee was stealing from the store by marking down items without authorization. The investigation is ongoing.
8. At 10:09 p.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. The victim discovered someone had forced open a storage compartment on his motorcycle and stole a helmet and other equipment.
Thursday, December 1:
9. At 7:38 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of West Longden Avenue regarding an attempted burglary investigation. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) broke a glass door and, it appears, as though they did not enter the home. No loss was reported. The suspect is described as a male, between 5’8” and 5’ 10” tall, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a medical mask.
10. At 9:24 a.m., an officer responded to SpringHill Suites, located at 99 North Second Avenue, regarding a fraud investigation. While the officer was on scene, a records check of one of the subjects revealed the 37-year-old from Carson had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Friday, December 2:
11. At 11:41 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of South Sixth Avenue regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered fraudulent charges on her debit card amounting to a loss of $500.00. The victim does not know the identity of the suspect or how they obtained their debit card information.
12. At 1:57 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Fairview Avenue regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed a male suspect hit an autistic male in the face for no apparent reason. The suspect, a White male with a large frame and blonde hair, was gone by the time officers arrived.
13. At 2:21 p.m., an officer responded to Big Lots, located at 610 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a robbery that had just occurred. An investigation revealed two female suspects were attempting to steal various items when they confronted by an employee. They threatened to stab the employee and fled in a Chevrolet Impala. The suspects are described as two Hispanic females. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.
Saturday, December 3: 14. At 12:54 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Las Tunas Drive regarding a vandalism report. Sometime between 6:30 p.m. on December 2nd and 12:54 p.m. on December 3rd, someone punctured the victim’s tires and scratched the side of her car.
