Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, October 23rd through Saturday, October 29

For the period of Sunday, October 23rd through Saturday, October 29th, the Police Department responded to 913 calls for service, of which 114 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, October 23:

  1. At 10:45 a.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department regarding a disorderly conduct incident that occurred at the Shops at Santa Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue. The officer discovered aan unidentified male suspect took photographs of a group of juvenile females while they were changing clothes in various stores throughout the mall. The suspect is described as a White male between the ages of 20 and 40- years-old, approximately 5’10” with an average build and “shaggy” hair.

  2. At 5:11 p.m., an officer responded to JC Penney, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. A store representative stated the unknown male suspect stole a $16,000 necklace. He is described as a Black male, approximately 25 to 30-years-old, around 5’9” tall, with brown eyes and a black face mask.

  3. At 10:30 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Sunset Boulevard regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed an altercation between a husband and wife resulted in the female half reporting a history of domestic violence. The suspect, a 42- year-old male from Arcadia fled before the officer’s arrival.


Monday, October 24:

4. At 1:19 a.m., an officer responded to Wing Hop Fung, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a burglary investigation. The officer determined a group of suspects cut a hole in the roof of the business and fled with a large amount of high end alcohol products. The suspects appear to be a group of 3-4 males.


5. At 1:59 p.m., an officer responded to Los Angeles County Agricultural Commissioner Department, located at 12300 Lower Azusa Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage captured two male suspects cutting the chains to a security gate and attempting to gain access to a storage container, but they fled emptyhanded. The suspects were seen fleeing in a white pick-up truck.


6. At 9:36 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. on October 24th, someone stole the victim’s 2001 Honda Accord from the mall parking lot.


Tuesday, October 25:

7. At 5:32 a.m., an officer responded to the area of 900 West Duarte Road regarding an aggravated assault investigation. The victim stated he believed his mother-in-law vandalized his car, so he confronted her. During the confrontation, the mother-in-law drove her vehicle toward him at a high rate of speed and made threats to run him over. The suspect, a 63-year-old female from Arcadia, is outstanding as of November 1st.


8. At 4:04 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia High School, located at 180 Campus Drive, regarding a robbery report. The victim stated the suspect ripped his necklace off and fled. The suspect, a 17-year-old male from Temple City, was cited and released in the field.


9. At 4:06 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of San Luis Rey Road regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim stated he rented out his camper trailer on the “Outdoorsy” application to the suspect who failed to return it. The identity of the suspect has yet to be confirmed.


Wednesday, October 26:

10. At 12:23 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of West Duarte Road regarding a kidnapping incident. An investigation revealed the male suspect locked his ex-girlfriend inside her apartment and hit her on the face. A records check revealed he was on parole at the time of the incident. The 30-year-old male from Compton was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


11. At 12:47 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Country Oak Drive, regarding a forgery report. The victim determined one of her recently mailed checks had been altered and forged. The victim does not know the identity of the suspect or how they obtained her check.

12. At 5:54 p.m., an officer responded to 99 Ranch Market, located at 1300 South Golden West Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle incident. The victim stated that while she was loading her groceries and child, an unknown suspect stole her purse from her open trunk. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20-years-old, with short black hair, 6’ tall, and seen wearing a blue t-shirt. The suspect fled in a black BMW. Friday, October 28:

13. At 3:10 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2400 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed the suspect, the victim’s son, was prohibited from entering the location but did so anyway and was also in possession of methamphetamine. The 37-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. While in custody, the suspect damaged jail property. This offense was added to his list of charges.

Saturday, October 29: 14. At 5:22 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a robbery report. The officer discovered the suspect stole a pair of shoes and pants from the store and when he was confronted by the loss prevention staff, he brandished a firearm. The suspect is described as a Black male in his mid-twenties, approximately 5’9” and 150 pounds, wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.
