Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - 12/5/2021 to 12/11/2021

For the period of Sunday, December 5th through Saturday, December 11th, the Police Department responded to 997 calls for service, of which 96 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, December 5:
At 2:32 a.m., an officer responded to AT&T, located at 643 West Duarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) broke a lockbox, entered the store, and fled with an unknown amount of property. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.
At 2:36 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue regarding an abandoned vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection with major damage to the front end. The officers located the possible driver and detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. The 33-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and he was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At 7:09 a.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of South Tenth Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. Surveillance footage captured the suspect enter the victim’s vehicle, find the keys, and resulted in the suspect stealing the Toyota Sienna. The suspect is described as a male with an average build and seen wearing light colored clothing.
Monday, December 6:
1. At 12:04 a.m., an officer responded to CVS Pharmacy, located at 1401 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects stole numerous bottles of Patron Tequila from a locked storage cabinet. The suspects are described as a Black male in his mid-20s, approximately 5’2” tall with a medium build, and wearing a black shirt, torn blue jeans, black face covering, and a black baseball cap. The second suspect is a Hispanic female in her mid-20s, also 5’2” tall, heavy-set, wearing a black printed t-shirt, grey shorts, black face covering, and she had tattoos on her thighs.
Tuesday, December 7:
At 5:50 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of Fano Street regarding a theft from vehicle incident. Sometime during the previous evening, someone stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s Honda Odyssey. The vehicle was parked in the street.
At 2:42 p.m., an officer responded to the 600 block of East Live Oak Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim discovered his vehicle’s window had been smashed and a purse, two jackets, and jewelry had been stolen. The incident happened sometime between 12:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on December 7th.
At 2:39 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a shoplifting arrest. A loss prevention employee witnessed the suspect cutting security locks from miscellaneous designer handbags before exiting the store, failing to pay for the items. The 34-year-old male from an unknown city was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At 7:32 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of South Fifth Avenue regarding a burglary report. The victim stated an unidentified suspect entered the victim’s unsecured garage and fled with various tools and a bicycle.
Wednesday, December 8:
At 3:38 a.m., officers responded to a solo vehicle traffic collision near 250 West Colorado Place. Upon contacting the driver, the officers detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her person. The 27-year-old female from Riverside was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At 10:05 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter to take a report of fraud. The victim stated someone used her personal information to redeem her airline miles. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained her information or the identity of the suspect.
At 8:04 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Chantry Drive regarding a burglary report. The officer discovered unknown suspect(s) shattered a rear window, ransacked the home, and fled with a laptop and a men’s watch.
Friday, December 10:
1. At 1:10 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the location. Upon locating the vehicle and contacting the driver, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver’s body. Due to the driver exhibiting signs of alcohol intoxication, the 21-year-old male from Oceanside was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Saturday, December 11:
At 10:24 a.m., an officer responded to Westfield Santa Anita Mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a battery investigation. The officer determined an argument between the boyfriend and girlfriend resulted in the male half biting the female victim, leaving a visible mark. The 22-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At 2:39 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft suspect in custody. Loss prevention witnessed the suspect steal nearly $200.00 worth of clothing. The 22-year-old male from Los Angeles was arrested and issued a citation.
