Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -October 24th through Saturday, October 30th

For the period of Sunday, October 24th through Saturday, October 30th, the Police Department responded to 1,028 calls for service, of which 93 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, October 24:
At 5:08 a.m., an officer responded the office of Walter M. Fierson, MD, located at 1245 West Huntington Drive, regarding a burglary alarm activation. The officer discovered unidentified suspects shattered the front window and fled with an unconfirmed amount of eye glasses.
At 2:09 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding an incident of rape that occurred at the Westfield Santa Anita mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue. The victim stated a blind date resulted in her being sexually assaulted by the suspect in the mall parking lot. The suspect is described as a 50-year-old White male, 5’8” tall, 140 pounds, with white hair and blue eyes. The investigation is ongoing.
Monday, October 25:
3. At 8:20 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Hampton Road regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed burglars broke into the home by smashing a glass door. The loss is unknown as of the time of this report.
At 2:20 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Sycamore Avenue regarding a burglary report. Surveillance footage captured two suspects walking toward the home. The officer determined the suspects smashed a window, they activated the alarm and fled empty-handed. A vehicle parked in the garage was damaged during the incident. The investigation is pending a review of the available footage.
At 3:46 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed a domestic dispute escalated and both parties hit each other in the face. A 55-year-old female from Arcadia and a 50-year-old male from Arcadia were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail.
Tuesday, October 26:
At 8:47 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of South First Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. Sometime between 6:42 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on October 25th, someone stole gasoline from the victim’s white Ford van. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect is a Hispanic male, between the ages of 25 and 30-years-old, approximately 5’5” to 5’8” tall, and was seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, and jeans. He was seen exiting an older model grey convertible Ford Mustang.
At 5:25 p.m., an officer responded to Westfield Santa Anita mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim discovered the front right tire and rim was stolen from his 2020 Honda Civic. The incident occurred between 4:00 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. on October 26th.
Wednesday, October 27:
1. At 4:40 a.m., an officer responded to the 1100 block of West Duarte Road regarding a mail theft incident. Surveillance footage captured the suspect force open mail boxes from an apartment complex and steal mail from at least one victim. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a blue baseball hat, grey hooded sweatshirt, black shorts, a blue mask, and carrying a black backpack.
Thursday, October 28:
At 9:37 a.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between October 1st and 28th, someone smashed the front driver- side window and ransacked the interior of the vehicle. No loss was reported.
At 11:43 a.m., officers responded to Citizens Business Bank, located at 55 East Huntington Drive, regarding a robbery. An investigation revealed a lone suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun, threatened the employees, and demanded cash from the safe. The suspect fled with a large amount of cash. The suspect is described as a male, White or Hispanic, approximately 5’6” to 5’11” tall, 160 to 180 pounds, with a light colored long sleeve shirt, light blue jeans, tan or olive colored hat, with a silver or white bandana covering his face.
Friday, October 29:
At 10:19 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of San Carlos Road regarding a burglary report. Sometime during the previous night, someone entered the victim’s garage through an unlocked door and fled with various tools.
At 5:23 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of East Duarte Road regarding a battery report. The officer discovered an incident of road rage resulted in a mutual battery between both parties. Neither party was arrested at the time. The investigation is ongoing.
Saturday, October 30:
At 2:42 a.m., an officer initiated an enforcement stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Huntington Drive and Holly Avenue for driving on the wrong side of the road. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. The 34-year-old male driver displayed obvious signs of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At 4:15 p.m., an officer responded to Westfield Santa Anita mall, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim discovered his catalytic converter had been stolen from his 2009 Toyota Prius between the hours of 11:34 a.m. and 4:10 p.m.
