Arcadia firefighters were among those helping battle the blazes in San Marcos and other areas near San Diego this week.
One of those was Gary Robinson, son of Arlynn and Gary Robinson, who provided this photo of what happened when a propane tank exploded and rocked the earth.
Other fire departments who prevented this fire from crossing the road were from Montebello, Laguna Beach, Garden Grove and Fountain Valley.
At 3:37 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, Arcadia Fire Department’s Engine 106 and OES 343 were dispatched to the Monte Vista incident in El Cajon, California, as part of Strike Team 1205A and 1860A, respectively. Both Strike Teams were requested for immediate need and assigned to Structure Defense upon their arrival.
