Michael D. Antonovich is weighing in on the County Arboretum‘s controversial decision last week to begin nerg0tiations with Pasadena Symphony and Pops for summer concert events instead of CalPhil. (Weigh in with your opinion by clicking your choice in poll at right side of this page.)

Antonovich has made a motion that is on the agenda for next Tuesday’s board meeting (May 10) of the Los Angeles County supervisors to “direct County Counsel and the Director of the Department of Park and Recreation to review the operating agreement with the Arboretum Foundation and to bring to the Board any recommendations deemed necessary to revise the agreement to ensure that the roles of the entities is clear and that the Foundation acts within the scope of its delegated authority.”

Prefacing the motion, Antonovich stated, “The County of Los Angeles is not a party to this contract. Questions have been raised regarding the roles and relationship of the Arboretum Foundation and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation.”
