AAUW music program

Hit tunes from the Broadway stage and memorable music from the movies will ring out when the Arcadia Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) presents “Our Sounds of Music” at a luncheon at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 6.  This entertaining event will take place at the Church of the Good Shepherd’s Jordan Hall, 400 W. Duarte Road, Arcadia (SW corner of Duarte Rd. and Holly Ave.)

The entertainment will follow a light Chinese-style lunch. Members and guests can expect to hear music from such stage and movie favorites as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Titanic,” and “The Sound of Music.”  The entertainment will include singing and dancing, as well as solo instrumental music.

Arcadia AAUW’s luncheon is the culmination of a fund-raising event for AAUW’s Educational Foundation. Chairing the occasion are Arcadia AAUW Educational Foundation Vice Presidents Fanny Kuo and Joanna Liang. The AAUW  EF is a project that supports women in graduate studies, public service projects, and research.

Arcadia AAUW is extending a cordial invitation to the public to join in this luncheon event. The ticket price of $20 per person for members and guests covers both the luncheon and entertainment. For reservation information, please call Fanny Kuo at (626) 574-8653 or Joanna Liang at (626) 355-2270 by January 25.  Those wishing to make a separate donation to the AAUW Educational Foundation may contact Joyce McGregor at (626) 447-6543 for more information.
